Any Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides out there???

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies

I am about to book the Excellence Riviera Cancun in May 2011 for my wedding. It looks like a great place to get married and all the tripadvisor reviews are positive but I haven't been able to find too many brides on BDW who have or are planning on marrying here recently. Before finalizing the place i would love to hear if anyone has anything to share about this resort!! THX!!

Sheen - Congratulations and welcome to the forum. I too am getting married at ERC. My wedding will be on May 7th 2010. I was debating on either ERC or Secrets Maroma for my wedding and due to the reviews I was sold on ERC.

I've spoken and emialed with the wedding coordinator at ERC on various occasions. She was quick and answered all of my questions. After booking our air/hotel I sent her this information and she sent me confirmation number. This was about 2 months ago and have not heard from her since. I'm not worried or anything as in her email she stated that we would make final decisions on everything a month before the big day.

If you have any specific questions please let me know. I'll gladly try to answer them as best as I can.

Again, congratulations!

My wedding is at the Excellence April 28, 2010..although I haven't been to this Excellence, I have been to the one in the Dominican and it was gorgeous, and that is what sold us on having our upcoming wedding there....if you do a search on this site you will find other brides married there and learn how great things went and how helpful the wedding coordinator, etc, is...as soon as I get back, i will be sure to post, but i guarantee you won't have any doubts once you learn more about Excellence!!! So Excited :) Good Luck Girl!!!

I am so excited for you. Congratulations! I am also planning my wedding at ERC in April 2011. I have been to the resort twice. It is absolutely amazing. Everyone owes it to themselves to experience a place like this. I can't think of a way to be disappointed there. I have had a very good experience with the wedding coordinator so far. Someone else has taken her place now, I believe, but I am sure she will be just as great. Service is definitely a strength of the excellence. Happy planning! I will be happy to answer any questions that I can for you.

Thanks to everyone for the great feedback and Congratulations to all those brides who are getting married here.

For those Brides getting married here; If you don't mind me asking how many people are you planning on having at your weddings and how many days are your guests staying?? Are you getting married by the beach, at the gazebo, or the pier? I am planning on having almost 70 people and I'm not sure if there are any limitations to getting married at the beach gazebo? Does anyone know?

Tree Bean...Are you already booked for April 2011? I was told i couldn't book until Jan?? I'm going to try to finalize a date next week; i hope there are still early dates in may 2011 available :)

Congratulations! I'm getting married there on April 30, 2010 and we booked our date last May. So, you may have to wait a few more months to confirm the date. They limit it to 2 weddings a day (I think), which is better for everyone I think. We're doing a symbolic ceremony at 5pm on the beach. From the information I read, I believe the gazebo is more intimate to accommodate smaller numbers. I'm anticipating 30-40 and the beach setting will be perfect. We are arriving on 4/27 and departing on 5/6. We selected the Gold package, as it offers the most/best bang for the buck; and, we booked an oceanfront suite so we'll get that package at a discount. So far, my guests have booked from Tuesday-Tuesday - ranging from 3 nights to 5 nights. Some people will be using this as a vaca and/or anniversary trip because of the timing. You may want to double check this, but I inquired about holding the reception on the beach and the WC responded that you had to have 50 guests in attendance to warrant that. That's just the reception though.

This forum is a Godsend. There is a thread especially for ERC that has a host of information and has been very helpful in my planning. :) And, don't stress. We didn't get the exact date we wanted, but we got the week after which is working out perfect. Everything will fall into place and work out how it is supposed to.

Good luck with all your planning! And, Congratulations again!

We have not been able to book yet. FI propsed to me on the pier at the ERC last spring. I got really excited after we decided on a date and contacted the WC as soon as we returned home. She told me that we would not be able to book until at least March. Since then, we have been told that May or June will be the earliest. My TA thinks that she will be able to persuade them to reserve our day at least in April. I am only worried that we will lose the photographer we have selected if we can not at least reserve our wedding date a year in advance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
