Aventura Spa Palace...

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies!

I have been debating and debating on where to have my wedding moon. I think I've finally decided upon the Aventura Spa Palace...but I also like the Sun Palace and the Moon Palace. Any thoughts or suggestions? Did anyone else also debate between the different Palace resorts? What helped you make your final decision?

Thanks so much!!!

Hi! I'm getting married at ASP in 2 weeks. We picked it over Moon Palace because it was smaller and wouldn't have as many weddings but we sacrificed a nicer beach. I think Sun Palace is adults only and my sister is only 15 we had to make it a family resort (ASP is attached to Aventura Cove which is all ages).

So far I've been so happy with the decision...they've bent over backwards for us and have been VERY accommodating.

Let me know if you have any questions about ASP. I know all 3 of the resorts you mentioned have threads on here so check them out if you want extra info!

Good luck!

Wow!! Two weeks!! That's so exciting! You MUST let us know how it all goes and post pics. :)

My fiance and I were thinking the same thing about the Moon Palace -- it just might be TOO big for us. Overall, ASP sounds amazing...my only worry is not being right on the beach; I LOVE the beach. However, I'm thinking it might be worth it in the end...plus, the pictures I've seen of the lagoon do look lovely...

I had my wedding at ASP exactly a week ago and it was just wonderful! They do everything for you and my photographer called the grounds "creative overload". The lack of beach is made up for by the beautiful lagoon that you can snorkel in and find some really awesome sea creatures! Not one of my guests had a problem with the fact that there was no beach. Plus, you can go to any of the other resorts!

Oh, wow! Just a week ago?!? CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Have you posted pics on here yet? I would LOVE to see them!!! After hearing your description, I'm actually pretty pumped about the lagoon now! ;*)

Did you use an outside photographer? I'm hoping to use the one provided at the resort...but I've read mixed reviews on them here. What are your thoughts??

What did you think of the actual resort (rooms, food, etc.)?

Thanks so much for letting me pick your brain...it's so great to be able to hear from those who have first-hand experience. I love this forum!! :)

We used an outside photographer along with the provided one. The pictures above are from our outside photographer. Here's a couple from the provided one:

The resort was fantastic. The food was great and the service was even better! I put on a few pounds there! haha! The rooms were really nice but a little small. Not too much storage, just a couple drawers and the closet. There's huuuge jacuzzi tubs in the room that are really nice and the shower is huge. Every room has a balcony and most have a hammock too. The spa is something I definitely recommend. It was so nice and relaxing.

We had our wedding on the Cove side (family side) which I preferred to the other side. The other gazebo is way off in the corner with a big green fence next to it and trash cans. I thought the Cove side was much more beautiful.

I'm going to post a full review either tonight or this weekend so keep an eye out for it.

Hi,

Just booked my wedding at Aventura Spa Palace for May! Very excited but have a few questions for you brides that just got married there, hopefuly you can help me out by answering them. Thanks in advance!smile29.gif

-I booked the Diamond Wedding Pacakge, it come with Photography package A, 36 photos are not enough for me and I'm concerned about the quality. I found a great photographer in the Riveria Maya area but just read on the Aventura Spa Palace website no outside vendors? It looks like a few of you booked outside photographers how did you go about this. Were you able to take advantage of the photography package that was included as well as your outside photographer?

-Blood work. What was the process of getting blood drawn? Did you have to go to a Mexican clinic? Did they come to the hotel room? How was the process?

-We are only have approx 15 people at our wedding, what did you do for the reception? We are not booking a private function, so I guess we get dinner reservations. Did they set up a special table/location/menu for your dinner?

-Fireworks? I see there is a firework show included in my wedding package can anyone tell me about this?

-Did anyone do a sand ceremony? How did you set this up?

Thanks so much, I'm sure I will have a lot more questions. I appreciate your help!

It looks like a few of you booked outside photographers how did you go about this. Were you able to take advantage of the photography package that was included as well as your outside photographer? We aren't utilizing the resort photog at all. We hired Del Sol and added them to our guest list and are paying for their day passes to get around the outside vendor policy. This seems to have worked for most people. I honestly didn't ask because this was not something I was going to leave to chance...I REALLY wanted great, quality pictures!

-Blood work. What was the process of getting blood drawn? Did you have to go to a Mexican clinic? Did they come to the hotel room? How was the process? We did the legal part before hand so we won't have to do blood work. but I know that they come to the resort to do the blood test. I think it's fairly easy/straighforward but it is an extra cost.

-We are only have approx 15 people at our wedding, what did you do for the reception? We are not booking a private function, so I guess we get dinner reservations. Did they set up a special table/location/menu for your dinner? We are having a larger group so we opted for a private reception. But they will set up a special area for you in the restaurant. Again, If you check out the ASP thread a recent bride posted her pictures and this is what she did too!

-Fireworks? I see there is a firework show included in my wedding package can anyone tell me about this?I think this is fairly new and no brides that I know of have had this yet or written a review about it. I'm anxious to see how these turn out also!!

-Did anyone do a sand ceremony? How did you set this up?I am doing a sand ceremony. I'm not sure what you mean about the set up though...there is an alter in the gazebo and we are just setting it up there. We wrote the ceremony based on bits and pieces I found on this forum and emailed it to the officiant.

Thanks so much, I'm sure I will have a lot more questions. I appreciate your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
