Dominican Republic Excursions!

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if there is a thread on this yet or not! I have just started planning my wedding, October 22, 2010 in Dreams Punta Cana.

After our stay at the resort, our honeymoon is going to be traveling allllll around the island and I want to see everything I can!

So, I have just contacted my wedding coordinator on what excursions they know of at the resort. I wanted to see what ones all the other Dominican brides have found!!

I've heard the catamaran to Soana Island is awesome! What companys are you guys going through?

Happy planning!

I too am interested in this! I recieved an email from La Barcaza last night about their cruises...seems pretty resonable! We want to take all our guests a couple days before the wedding on a trip. A friend of mine has worked in DR and is helping me with some contacts for the catamaran trips...apparently the island is not to be missed! I'll provide the contacts once I get them! :)

We are doing a welcome boat cruise the day before our wedding with La Barcaza, I am really excited! :) I will post a review when we get back and let you know how it went. We actually initially considered doing our wedding on the boat, but I got too freaked out about it (getting there in my dress and stuff).

We went on a catamaran with VIP travel service. I enjoyed working with this company. We were even able to book our trip online before we left. We also did a trip called "boogies" which were go carts you drive all around. This we didn't like so much since we were full of mud head to toe the entire time. We LOVED the ctamanran though it is called "carribean festival". Congratulations!

We are looking at doing a cruise as well.. I want to pay for everyone too and it is expensive. We were looking at La Baracuza or whatever it's called for a 2-3hr cruise... they have different packages, but I'm still trying to decide and figure out if we can afford it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
