Hi all,

I know there were a few Iberostar threads, but one had 138 pages and I couldn't keep track ;-/

I thought to start a new thread for 2010 brides, for all reasons...STD, invitations, photographers, and any random questions.

We are all here to help each other and that it so extrememly beneficial.

Past brides, we would LOVE the input and help as well.

Good luck to all who are planning and congrats to those who are married !!!!

I am excited to find this! Yeah the other thread has 146 pages! I can't keep track. My wedding is a year from tomorrow! I am getting married at the Paraiso Maya. I have a lot of questions and things I'm thinking about and contemplating. I just finished my STD's and I was GOING to get 'special' stamps.....but since they are practically $1.00 apiece...I will be getting regular old stamps. I can't spend money on stuff that will end up in the trash.

I may be going to look at dresses tomorrow so I'm very excited.....

Guess we're all in about the same place when it comes to planning! I found my dress but haven't ordered it yet.

$1.00 per stamp sounds like a lot. I did get an idea for savings money on stamps for invitations. If you have a wedding website, you can have your guests RSVP via your website. We just received an invitation like this and it is so much more convenient. Just a little tip I just picked up.

FYI, there is a way to set up your account so that you can see more posts/page. For example, when I go to the other Iberostar thread I only see 36 pages because they are consolidated.

I did end up finding regular $.44 stamps that have wedding bands! However, the reply on the website is a good idea! I do have a website and I didn't even think of that!!!

Also, I got my dress today! We've had nothing but rain around here so I decided to go to David's bridal today with my mom. I found a dress I loved and I can't believe it! I ordered it and it will be in in October. Its plain but elegant enough because it has nice beading around the halter top. It already fit just as it was too! I just have to have it hemmed and cups sewn in. I can't believe I got it today!

I also got cute shoes- little flip flop heels with beads on them- so cute and comfortable!a>

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married at the Del Mar on April 24th, 2010. Greg and I just returned home from the resort on Sunday the 5th of July. It was fabulous. The resort is huge. One must understand that the Del Mar and Beach share properties so the guests can stay at either. The Lindo and Maya share I believe. Guests from the Del Mar and Beach can not go over to the Lindo and use the ammenties. However, the Lindo guests can come over to the Del Mar and Lindo. I would suggest to your guests that they bring comfortable walking shoes. The Japanese food at the Del Mar was the best food that we had.

I have my dress and am getting my Save the Dates back from being printed tomorrow. I am doing passports and they were so much work. If you have questions ask me and I will tell you what I can. I met with Reyna but after reading posts from other brides would suggest using the other coordinator if possible.

Glad to be hear with all of you!

Mandee

AmyRot - Your dress looks very pretty!! Congrats on finding it so soon!

Mandee - So glad to hear you had a nice visit! We are going down there at the end of this month and I'm anxious to meet with Reyna. What did you think of her in person. She seems very nice over email and has actually gotten back to me pretty quickly, compared to what other brides have said.

Any advice for what to bring to the meeting? I really want to make the most of meeting with her in person.

Also, when you were at the Del Mar were you able to eat an an ala carte each night? I feel like I haven't gotten an accurate answer on how that works.

Look forward to planning with all of you =) Leah

Hi! I have been to the Del Mar before twice- its great! (I chose to have my wedding at the Maya for a change of scenery)
You can eat at the buffet any night- was that your question? Or did you mean the restaurants...? When I was there and its probably still the same..you had to make a reservation between a certain hour in the lobby for the specialty restaurants. Sometimes it was hard to get a reservation but I do remember going to the Seafood restaurant and the Steakhouse. The buffet is really great too!

Sorry to post twice in a row but I have a question, and perhaps I should put it on the old Iberostar thread. It seems like no one uses the Iberostar photographer. I am absolutely using them because its not in my budget to pay the $300 fine plus photography fees on top of that for using an 'outside' vendor.

I just wish I could see some examples from the Iberostar photography staff!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
