Moon Palace Brides-- which side did you prefer?

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!

I am getting married at the Moon Palace on 4/2010. I am just starting to create my wedding website and offer information to my guests.

I have read so many reviews on the different sides., Grand, Sunrise, etc...

Can you please tell me which sides you prefer and why as well as which side you wouldn't prefer.

Thanks so much for all your helpful information, this forum is great!

I want to know this as well... after reading many posts I found out that all the wedding stuff happens on the Nizuc side (gazebos, WC office, beauty salons...etc). I also read that the Sunrise side has the disotech and is where all other stuff happens. The nizuc side has the kids play area, too. I just hope I am right with all of this, dont quote me. Anyone else want to elaborate?

I pref'ed the Nizuc side because it's quieter, closer to wedding stuff, and seemed to be better to meet up with people. I figured with the group I have going, it would be better not to stay on the party side.

I actually didn't know about the Grand side when I booked - I'm not sure if I would change it if I went back though. I haven't been there, but it seems like the Grand might be too quiet - maybe a little too remote??

I am siding with the Sunrise side because we will have many single people attending the ceremony. It is the side with all the action. If this was simply for honeymooning, I would be on the Nuzic. I think the side that you picked will be determine by the people that are attending. We plan to party...

Same here. We are staying on the Sunrise side. It's where we stayed the last time I went with the FI and his family, and there's deffinitely a lot of action there. Always something going on.

We don't have too many single people going, but I think it'll be nice to be a bit removed from all the wedding sites/parties too. (At least that's what I'm hoping). Plus, we deffinitely want to PARTY! cheesy.gif

I'm going with the sunrise side because it's the building in the middle of it all and we will only have about 3 children in my group. The lobby is gorgeous, it has escalators, disco and lobby bar. I believe the salon is at the sunrise as well. Although the Nuzic side is the closest to the wedding areas, it's the oldest part of the hotel and from what i've gathered, it's a bit run down. All of the guest can get shuttled to the wedding areas, otherwise they can walk if they choose. I believe the distance between each building is 3-5 minutes. I've never been to MP and have only been going by reviews from previous brides. I am doing a site visit sometime in May of 2011 to see for myself. Things may either change or stay the same. I'll post a review upon my return.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
