Staying together the night before wedding?

Recommended Posts

Are you guys staying together the night before the wedding or splitting up?

I prefer to stay together, but my MOH and the best man say we should split up. We live together and sleep together every night, so I would prefer to be together. I don't sleep very well when he is away and I don't want to be tired or lonely the night before our wedding. Our parents aren't very traditional so they don't necessarily care. I want to get together with the girls and hang out, just not necessarily all night..

If you guys are staying apart, what are your reasons. Just wondering if I am missing something.

My FI and I have lived together for a little more that three years, so he has seen me looking my best and worst. I plan on staying apart because I think that it will heighten the anticipation of seeing me for the first time that day as I prepare to become his wife.

I think it is up to you two what you want to do. DH and I lived together before we got married but decided not to stay together the night before the wedding. I am glad we did because I was so excited to see him and it was fun thinking what he is doing and what he is thinking.

FI and I are staying together the night before too. We are also kissing goodbye in the morning then won't see each other again until our ceremony at 6P. We've talked about sleeping separately but we plan on making our last night as "single" as special as our first night as "married."

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. We have been together for 8 years, 2.5 of those we've lived together. I honestly don't think I would be able to sleep if we were to split up for the night! We are in no way romantic, so we'll be staying together the night before. The way I look at it is, we want to be together every night, so what's the big deal! Do whatever you feel is right for you!

My DH and I stayed together the night before our wedding, in fact we got up early, got a couple massage and then walked the beach for a little bit. It was such a great way for us to relax and just enjoy a private moment together. After the walk on the beach he headed to one room to get ready and I went back to our room to get ready.

I think you should do whatever it is that makes you both comfortable, weddings can bring on so many emotions, so do what will makes you guys happy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
