Valentin Imperial Maya Brides?

Recommended Posts

The lobster pot and steak house are connected and are open air restaurants. If it is raining it can come through the roof (and it did on DH and I). It was not a lot and it has to be raining at an angle to get through.

I don't think I have a pic but I will look.

thats ok I didnt realize it was open air. most of my guests have canceled for fear of the the "second wave of swine flu" so instead of having a private dinner I was going to do it in a restaurant. can you tell me which are the nicest? the french looked great but i am worried my guests may not like french food.

On my visit to the Valentin, I ate at the Lobster Pot, the Japanese restaurant, Mexican restaurant and Italian. I looked inside the French restaurant but my fiance and I decided against it because the menu scared us a little. I've heard wonderful reviews of it, but the food just wasn't really for us.

Out of all of them, I have to say I think that the Mexican restaurant is the nicest. We ate in the lovely little courtyard area outside that has a fountain. The food there was delicious, too. The food at all the restaurants was delicious, but the Mexican was my favorite.

I stayed there last year and I ate at the french restaurant, and while the food was good, the portions were really small. We ended up ordering room service later that night. The mexican restaurant was our favorite. I heard that the Italian place and the Indonesian were very good.

Well, I have to say that DH and I LOVED the French restaurant. At first glance the menu may seem scary but I had french onion soup, a steak, and then something delicious for dessert. The french restaurant is beautiful.

We also loved the Japanese restaurant, if you are having a small group one of the grills would be awesome. If the group is a bit bigger, they have tables too.

The indo restaurant and Italian were great too!

The Mexican restaurant was nice but was not our favorite.

If they will let you wait to decide I would do that. Get there, look at the menus, see what is open on which nights, check out the areas and then decide. They may have a themed buffet on your wedding night and that could be fun too. They could give you a section for your group.

**Just remember if you get your meal and the portions are small...order more. If you get your food and you don't like it order something else. If you eat your dinner and get hungry later, order room service!

Hi everyone!

I am not getting married at the Valentin, but I am having my honeymoon there and I wanted to do my TTD there. Have any of you past brides done them there? My resort where we are having our wedding enacted this "no outside photographers" policy so we cannot do it there. I am wondering if there are any secluded beach area's...

Hi Jayla,

My guests are staying from November 19th-November 23rd (4 nights). For round trip airfare as well as the stay it was about $1400-$1600 for the guests. This is based on 2 people sharing a room. It ends up being about $700-$800 per person. Keep in mind it is MUCH cheaper to have people share rooms rather than having people travel single. Upon rigorous searches, we found that it was actually cheapest for us to book directly through the Valentin site vs. Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline, Beachdestinations.com, and cheapcarribean.com.

Also, we had a flight cancel on us and the booking place was very courteous and switched us to a better flight with no hassle. woot.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
