Recommended Posts

Well all the styles are pretty similar...I was looking for pictures when I tried on these styles before but cant seem to find them. The first picture I posted is a trumpet skirt which is similar to these dresses to.

I stopped by another cosignment shop today and tried on these styles as well. I do like them, but I just dont like any dress on me. I feel so large. sad.gif

Thanks for the replies....I know its hard to imagine someone in a dress. I like hearing other peoples perspectives on the dresses. I think Ive narrowed it down to two now :) Im super strapped on time so need to act quick. 47 days to go....

I think #2 would work (with the halter neck). Just imagine yourself made up, hair done, and jewelry on. Have you searched for more supportive undergarments? I don't have any suggesions for any personally, but a co-worker of mine likes the Ardyss bodyshaper (I believe they make a strapless one). I haven't tried it myself though.

One other thing... I've found that dresses with more structure in the waist and hips are more slimming for me (similar to #4), maybe that would work for you too. Good luck!

I love the look of the second dress YOU were wearing...on YOU! Your waist looked SO SVELTE, tiny and lovely, and the ONLY THING that would be necessary for that dress to look totally perfect would be a bit of alteration at the bust!

Aside from that, my choice for an option B dress would be.....maybe dress 5, but I still think the 2nd dress you wore in your photos is YOUR dress with a few nips n' tucks! wink.gif

ok my turn, dress four all the way.I think because the fabric is not flat it will take away from the body issues you may have.I am currently bigger through the middle (bloody thyroid) and also with the ribbon pleated it most defintly smooths out and elongates the torso.Having the sash at the side also draws the eye away from the centre.Would you be getting the dress in the colour you have posted champagne right?I so think you can that colour.Hope that helps xxx

Ive just gone back after i posted to look at the dresses once more and im even more certain that dress 4 is the one you should be paying the most attention to.

Ok honesty here, and i hope i can say this without offence the extra weight you are carrying has landed just on your tummy just like mine i might add.If you look at most of the other dresses your eye is drawn to that area because of the way the beading stops or pattern change. In dress 4 the pattern is repeated througout the dress hence theres no drawing to one specific area.In fact if you look at it again your eye is drawn to the pattern but more to the whole dress and then the sash.God i hope that makes sence.xxxx

So I made a decision, Im going with number 4. Without the bow though.

Roo66, your completely right. I carry my weight in the midsection (due to my thyroid to!), and I think that number 4 would flatter me the most with the rouching like sash in the middle. Unfortunately I cant find that dress in any bridal salons near me...but Im going to call a few more tomorrow and hope for the best.

I saw a real bride wearing it, that was very similar in shape to me, and LOVED it. She got it in the champagne color which is probably the color I will get. Or ivory.

Thanks again everyone for your input :) Ill be sure to post pics once it arrives!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
