Hi girls! Great to see this thread, I am a little late finding the forums, but here I am.

My wedding is 12-28-09 at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef in St Thomas.

So far, I have:

1. Purchased a dress

2. Found shoes for the dress

3. Ordered and received invitations

4. Sent out "Save the Date" postcard and magnets

5. Collected guests' mailing address

6. Made the website

7. Ordered bridesmaid dresses

8. Registered at Macy's and Bed, Bath, and Beyond

9. Had a wedding shower last weekend and sent out thank you cards

Still a lot more to do, but I think we have a handle on it. The only thing I am worried about is that I just found out that I have to have major surgery Oct 26th, just eight weeks before the wedding. I just hope that I will be recovered by then. Our honeymoon is chartering a sailboat to sail the BVIs through Jan 4th, and I will need to be in shape to work my half of the sailing!

I love all of your posts, they have given me some great ideas! Keep them coming!

Amie, sorry to hear about the timing of your surgery. Listen to Autumn and just don't do anything too stressful before the wedding!! get as much done before surgery as you can!

BTW girls - my friend just told me she rcvd the evite for my bach party in Nov! I guess I didn't get the evite - maybe there is something I'm not supposed to know about....

Jill - I hear ya on the evite for the bach party. Mine is next weekend (we wanted to do it before our legal day) and I don't know anything about it! I have a plane ticket and will be flying with a friend, but that's all I know! It's kinda funny how we plan and plan and plan our weddings, but know nothing about the bach parties :) As long as my girlies are there and we can get crazy I will be happy friday.gif

Also I heart your new siggy pic love.gif

our legal day is the monday before thanksgiving - so Nov 23rd.

your bach party is going to be so much fun! didn't you say you are going wine tasting? in napa? (just ignore me if I'm wrong)

I love my siggy pic! we were all bridesmaids in our friends wedding in June. the groom is a firefighter so he had a truck come to the venue. we also have a pic of all of us girls hang on for dear life to a golf cart (because the wedding was at a golf course) - hahaha!

Hi Amie,

I can sympathize with you, I just went through major surgery a little over a week ago and I have scars to prove it :) I say don't worry about it too much, i agree, get everything done before hand. You don't want to rush recovery---trust me! I was miserable for the first 5 or 6 days. Things get better though and you will feel at least 75% before you know it :)

not to switch gears, but....

I just rcvd my bachelorette party invite!

It said, "Jill is Getting Married!" and it was weird to see that all typed up and emailed out. Isn't that weird?! I've spent so many days planning all my other friend's weddings, and now that it's my turn, it's weird to be the one NOT planning it.

It really does make you feel special, doesn't it?

This is going to be a couple of crazy months!

I downloaded that excel spreadsheet someone posted that had the wedding checklist and I thought that I had plenty of time, and now I'm actually behind in a few items - not much, but still shocked me!

I haven't checked in in awhile sorry!

I havent done much lately but I did get new earings at lunch for the wedding! yay! I still am in desperate need of shoes tho.

You girls will have so much fun at your bach. parties! I had my big one in vegas (with 16 of my friends) in july and im having one here in calgary Oct 3rd with another 20 friends (some that can't come to the wedding and some who couldnt come to vegas). I am like you Jill, and used to planning everything so it was so so hard for me to not be involved.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
