From what I understood, they could also section off an area of the buffet dining room for a welcome/rehearsal dinner for your group and I wasn't told anything about a limit on the guest number. I wouldn't think there would be any extra charge for this since guests have unlimited use of the buffet. Just curious?
Not sure! If that's the case, that's what I'm doing!

Also, anyone used the floral arrangments the hotel provides? Claudia sent me a PDF of images of some examples, but I'm not crazy about the style of the centerpeices. Anyone know if they are flexible if I sent her a pic of what I want, can she make it?
Also, if anyone was wondering, Claudia told me that for the rehearsal dinner she can't accept reservations of more than 30 people. She will get a guest list three weeks before the wedding and will make the reservation for us.
Also, I got with my travel agent today and they are working their magic on a deal and also on bulk air. I will let you know what they come back with.
MObride.....if we end up with bulk air and most of your guest list is leaving from STL, that could work out for you, so let me know if you wanna jump on the plane.
Hi Diamondpooch!

Could you also send me the pictures of the centerpieces you received from Claudia?? Thanks so much...my email is: dear_nat@hotmail.com

I didn't know there was a resident DJ at the resort or that you had to pay an extra fee to bring someone else in!!... do you know who it is? Heard anything about him?

Hello!!!

By "resident" DJ, I mean the one they offer you if you buy a DJ through them. I believe they run $580 for three hours or something. I asked about bringing DJMannia in and they said it was fine, but I'd have to pay the resort $50 per hour for electricity used. That's another $200 on top of what I'll already have to pay Mannia and I'm just not sure I wanna spend that much. I know NOTHING about the resident DJ yet. I'm waiting on a response from Claudia regarding if he has a website or anything. I'll post on here when I find out.

Sure, I'll email you the PDF of the flowers. I'm less than impressed with what I saw in the photos, so I asked Claudia if those are my only options. Waiting to hear back. I pray they aren't!

Well, I'm going to buy my dress and pick out BM dresses on Thursday so wish me luck!

Have fun wedding dress shopping!!! I ordered mine last week & I can't wait for it to come in!!!

Sorry to bother you about these floral arrangement photos, but could you email them to me? I wasn't worried about it at all until I read your posts...I mean, how can they mess up tropical flowers? LOL.

I'd really appreciate it, my email: joshuab.and.kate@gmail.com

Sure thing! No problem! the thing is is that they don't really use tropical flowers at all. That's why I was disappointed. No matter, though, I'm sure your WC can accomodate you once you get down there. I'm sure when I meet with her upon my arrival all that stuff can be taken care of!

Thanks Diamondpooch (Jacqui) :-) Yes, please let us know once you hear back from Claudia about the flowers and DJ.. I was also looking at maybe bringing someone in, but if the extra fee of 50$/hour is the case, forget about it!! An Ipod it will be... hehe...

Good luck dress shopping!! I found mine last week actually!! :-)

This was for the Colonial and through Air Transat. The wedding packages I was referring to are actual wedding packages, as in ceremony and reception, etc. They are similar to the Barcelo's and quite a bit cheaper but I think it's a new thing for Air Transat and I was wondering if anyone else had used an Air Transat wedding package. I hate to be a guinea pig on my wedding day. lol
hey Beachbride17,
Small world...lol...didn't think anyone knew where Kitchener was on the map. I had know idea that Air transat provides this wedding package. My TA didn't even mention it to me which is strange. But if it saves you money I would say go for it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
