Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Sandra-

Yes there is a microphone, the set up is actually nice. I just had my ipod. You can hook up the laptop but make sure you bring connections and ask them what ones you need (if you look at the equipment rental spreadsheet thing your WC should have sent you it tells you exactly what the system is so you can google it and figure out what connections you need) They do provide the connections but better safe than sorry, ask Tina.

Don't know about the ceremony, we had live music. I had my hair and makeup done by a man @ the Golf Spa, it came out awesome. Unfortunately, I can't remember who did it. Be sure to bring a picture! If you don't, they won't know what to do and it will turn out like an 80's prom do. Read my review for more info on hair and make-up

I am having the same issue. One of our friends booked through the website because it was a little bit cheaper, but they got free spa stuff. I want to know if you get the reception/cocktail hour ONLY if stuff is booked through MP? This is soooo confusing!

I've asked the same question of my WC and yes the ONLY way to receive the free functions is if the rooms are booked directly through the resort....

From what I understand the reservations that are counted have to be booked through the Group Booking Link that was provided by the resort when you sign and pay for your group contract. If you are using a travel agent I think the link is sent to them to coordinate with the resort instead of you.

Hi girls! :)

I am getting married at 1pm in May. I was considering getting married later in the day in the hope it would be cooler but I have looked at weather underground and the temperature only drop's 1 or 2 degrees so it's not going to make much difference.

I have got my dress and had got an underskirt to go with it so hopefully it will let in a little air.

Does anyone know how bad it will be in May? Is there any breeze in the gazebos or on the beach for the photos?

Do you think I am crazy for wanting to wear this dress? It is my dream dress!!! :)

I think that dress is gorgeous! Wear whatever you want!

I got married at 1pm in July. It was hotter than you would believe - but it should be cooler in May.

However, at 1pm the sun is so bright it makes pictures difficult. You'll be squinting a lot and the sun reflecting off the sand makes the contrast in pictures not so great. That's something to definitely consider. If you can take a later time, I would.

I had Kalena as my wedding coordinator. She isn't the best to respond via email but she was very detailed and made my day absolutely perfect. When I had several things we needed to addresss, I would write the email with all my questions then ask her to call me on the phone. Sometimes it took me resending the email a time or two but she did an outstanding job for us and not one detail was overlooked. If you have specific questions, let me know.

I had a couple of questions to the brides already married at Moon Palace.

A friend of mine going to the wedding is a DJ so he's going to DJ the reception and put the music together for the ceremony and the cocktail hour. What kind of equipment do they have to rent? Is there a microphone? Can he hook his laptop up the the system? and for the ceremony is it just a cd player?

Also who should I make an appointment with to do my hair for the wedding?
We rented the ipod docking system for the reception but it also had a laptop hooked up to it. It did include a microphone. We did the Mariachi Band for the wedding and they knew what music to play when.

Several of the summer brides on here had Doris in the Nizuk salon. She was amazing. Definitely find a photo of what you want. They will duplicate it exactly.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
