Kelly, this absolutely sucks. This is one of my fears about some of FI's family---- they are exactly like this too and it drives me nute! I really hope something gets worked out, even tho I have no idea what!

As for the bags---- give them a plastic sack and tell them they'll have to arrive in person in Jamaica to get the real thing!

Dang Kelly. I'm sorry! That's terrible and you have EVERY right to be mad. If they paid the deposit and promised people they could share rooms and then they back out NOW! That's just crazy!

OMG that reminds me of another lousy thing about this, we are getting married in DR, we had wanted to get marred in Jamaica, but E family begged us to change locations because they wanted this to feel like a vacation and Jamaica would not be a vacation for them, so we changed our venue, even though it was our dream and my family all really wanted to go to Jamaica! I had really wanted to bring our son to the country that his daddy was born in. Oh I am just getting angrier, and angrier...

You know what, you do not know them all that well, so chances are they will totally do their own thing, and you will not have to deal with them at all. For real, when I was a BM at a DW, we all did our own thing a lot, we wanted the bride and groom to not feel stressed or like they had to hang out with us.

Sorry, but that was too nice of you. It is YOUR wedding, not their vacation. I wish you had asked us before you changed locations, we all would have told you HELL NO! Your FH should bring that up when he talks to him mom, you changed for THEM, they better get their asses there.

I hadn't discovered you girls yet, wish I had, I would have done alot of things differently!!! I thought having our loved ones around us was more important than location, what a joke, unfortunately they don't feel the same way, live and learn, lesson to other dw brides, think of yourselves, because no one else will!

That is a good thing to tell all DW brides, listen to her, its soooo true.

I know it will work out for you, it will all be perfect and what you dreamed of, you just need to get through this part. We all have crappy things we need to get through before the wedding, trust me, WE ALL DO!! It will work out in the end.

OMG Kelly!

I am so sorry you are being put through this. Stuff like that really upsets me! One of my biggest pet peeve's is stupid and inconsiderate people! I can not for the life of me understand how family can treat other members of their family like shit!! And the fact that you changed locations because of them! Wow!! That is the ultimate!! I hope your FI can talk some sense in to them!

Just remember that you, your fiance and your son and what matters most and you will still have the most beautiful day!!! Keep your chin up as best you can!! Things will fall into place!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
