I cant wait to see your pictures of your wedding days.

Anyone thinking about having a reception at one of the restaurants in a reserved area and then going to the club after ward and dancing there?

I am really thinking about this option. Mainly I am really not sure how many guest I am going to have. If I do not have more then 15 I really might consider this option. I know at other resorts you can do this for a small fee.

Hi Megan,,

I was also thinking about that option too but Im just going to wait and see how many people end up going.. I agree with having less than 15 people it might be a good idea to do something small and have dinner at a reserved area and then just go dancing at the resort.. But it all depends on the amount of people going.. My thoughts are if people are flying all that way,, we should give them a great day to enjoy.. THings are just adding up really quickly.. Whoever said DW are cheap,, noway!!! So was your plan to go with the free wedding and just add extras?? I keep going back and fourth with the packages.. Does anyone have any adive on any of thishuh.gif

Megan -> I may do it this way ! I was also looking at local restaurants as a wedding venue. At this time, all of the menus associated with the wedding packages aren't listing any Mexican cuisine...although Ana said that would be changing, she didn't say when. My wedding (should I decide for Dec 09) will be quite small due to the time of year and the short notice provided to our guests. I love the idea of a private dinner (ie beach, pool or terrace set up) but as mentioned, everything additional is adding up quite fast sad.gif

I completely agree with you. If I have enough guest I think it would be worth throwing a private party for my guest. But like you said it is adding up. My wedding planner is going over the difference in prices between a package or adding on what I want. I will let you know what she comes up with. I am really thinking the love package might be the best. But that is a big jump of price between free to 2 grand. lol. I also want to have a d.j if I have the private party. I wonder if we could find a cheaper d.j off site? But 280 a hour I do not think is to much compared to what the price would be in the states. But then I think why am I paying this much money at all inclusive resort that provides food drinks and entertainment. I dont know I am at a lose of what to do. I really wanted a mexico wedding b/c I wanted to have a budget wedding. But my spoiled self is getting the way. lol

Carina - I am getting married on Feb 26th, 2010! I guess we will see each other there :)

I am also trying to decide what to do about a package. I think that you have to choose a package to get a contract but you can change the package? I was trying to work out the numbers and what I came up with was that if you are having a private reception, it definitely is more cost effective to get a package!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
