December 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

In PV the sun sets around 5:20 pm so we are doing the wedding at 4. That leaves us an hour for pics with the family and then some at sunset. It looks like the Jamaica sunset is around 5:20 as well.

Since you are getting married by the pool, unless the ceremony is early in the morning or after sunset you are going to have people around you. Enjoy the attention :o)

Questions... Does your family/friends know you guys are getting married? Or are you keeping it totally secret? Did you get an engagement ring and can you wear it? Or did you guys just get wedding bands?

We have been planning on eloping for a while now and have almost all the planning complete. Purchasing rings was one of the last items to take care of and we had planned on looking at rings sometime next month. I had only wanted an eternity band. My thoughts were, we are not getting engaged, and the band is what you say your vows to and is so much more important to me. But, he totally surprised me with an actual proposal! And the four rings he had picked out were engagement rings with wedding bands. No one has any idea that we are getting married! Everyone just thinks we are going to Jamaica for a long overdue vacation (because I have been in school for the last 1 1/2 yrs). So, I can't wear the ring yet! We are just going to leave it in the safe at the jewelry store until right before we leave. I have to go back in 2 weeks to make sure that it fits and that the setting is what we want, but then back to the safe!

Hey winter brides! Anyone else getting more excited as the 3 month countdown approaches?!?! Thought I would give you girls a laugh this morning. My mom put my engagement announcement in the small town newspaper and I honestly feel like such a hick. I'm actually surprised the newspaper even has a website. LOL oh well you gotta love em :o)

Thanks for the info. I spoke with my photographer ,who also suggested making it eariler. After thinking about it, if we make it at 4pm, if there does happen to be an afternoon shower we can deley the ceremony until it is over. Where as if we had it at 5pm, if God forbid there was a shower or other delay we would be getting hitched in the dark!!!

It is so exciting to be this close to the wedding!! It is all starting to feel real now!! I was also wondering about the dress fitting. I guess I will do it in mid-OCT because any sooner I feel like I might lose weight and then have to get it refitted.

Random question, where did you girls find your wedding shoes? I have yet to find any I love and the tips of them will show with my dress so it's making it very hard for me since you can actually see them!

I got my wedding dress shoes at Nordstroms and my legal day shoes at Davids Bridal. The Davids Bridal ones are dyed to match the dress sash, but then I found ones that I liked better at Nordys :) The Nordy ones are the ones with I Do on the bottom. Then the flip flops for when my feet start the hurt came from... I'm embarrassed to say... Wal-Mart. Total impulse buy while we were shopping for groceries, but I heart them :) I put all of them in the attached .ppt. Some people posted some really cute white/ivory shoes from DSW if you are looking to go that color scheme. Good luck finding something!

Aww that was so sweet of your mom to do that :) Thanks for sharing!
It is getting so close, my invites came today (finally!) and can't wait to send them out and get my very first RSVP!
We do have to start looking for my FI's pants for the ceremony (he is not stressed about this one bit), I am hoping there are some linen pants out there on sale. 3 more months!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
