Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

I didn't have time for wedding planning this past weekend. We get our house at the end of the month and so I spent my time shopping for appliances!! OMG....I can't believe how expensive everything is but it doesn't help when I tend to like expensive stuff. I bought front load steam washer/dryer and I'm very excited. Now, time to pick out the paint, blinds and meet with the landscape architect. Ugghhh!!!!

WOW Jess you are working on two huge endeavors at the same time. Good Luck. I wish we could get those from loading washer and dryers. but ours work fine lol. As soon as the wedding ends we plan to get me a new car then work on updating the house. OMG all of the walls are white except in the bathroom. This is Fi's house and we've had no time to do anything so I can't wait to play decorator. I already have paint choices in mind and we have to basically demo the kitchen bc it's too small so we're opeing it up to the dining room and we are finishing the basement and making the 1/4 bath down there a 1/2 bath lol.

Well, I have to get my paper work in by this weekend. I have most of it done... still debating on the flowers... was thinking stargazers with pink and oranges roses, and orange calla lilies, and green orchids.... but then I start thinking other combos... UGH. I think the flowers are going to be the hardest decision.

Working on the pre-travel brochures here as well. Still need to be the OOT bags, get gifts, and who knows what else because it feels like my brain is mush right now.

I can totally understand the extra expenses. I originally was going to have everything covered from a bonus I got from work, but now will be 10,000 over budget... then we bought a new vehicle, and now we are getting the basement developed... and now he's thinking of buying a new snowmobile. :P

haha it sneeks up on ya eh, Ashely? I've decided not to do centerpieces because we're a smaller group and I think that a centerpiece would only be in the way. I do, however, need to come up with a centerpiece idea for our AHR in February. I'll stress about that later though.

What are you colours?? I think I may have an idea but will only work for a green, yellow or orange wedding.

Believe me, I don't know how I'm managing!!! We decided to build a home and we were suppose to be in at the end of August but construction was delayed. We are suppose to be in at the end of September but we are also leaving to New Orleans the first week of December. My life is seriously just passing me by.

It sounds as though you will be doing the house remodeling after the wedding. That will keep you busy!!! At least, the car shopping will be fun!!!

What are the colors of your wedding? You could just do a small arrangement of colorful flowers and then some limes in the vase to dress it up.

Hey ladies my colors are orange and green. I was thinking ab fruit but I have to send everything down to my WC Oct 1 and she's already charging me an additional $55 to send items to her so I'd be afraid to ask her to pick up fruit for me lol. I also don't wanna do flowers bc we can't bring them back on the ship so they'd be a real waste of $$$. I'm thinking ab doing something with vases and sand and sea shells etc... I just keep putting it off. The one thing I asked my grandma to do is my centerpieces. I was paying for them but just didn't feel like doing another DIY project (I asked her to do them in Feb) when I asked her how they were coming along in June she said I never asked her to come up with anything and that she was too busy to do them. I'm like you gotta be kidding me.

My family seems like they could really care less ab my wedding. All they care about it the cruise. My mom was supposed to get my serving set and champagne flutes... I clearly don't have them and I have to send them down to St Thomas in a month. I swear those are the only 2 things that I asked ppl to do for me. And now as you can see I'm left with a month to go to do them myself.... My mom's like well I had to get my flight so you'll have to wait for the serving set.

These ppl are killing me... Don't they realize that Brian and I are footing our cruise and helping out all the bridal party and paying for the entire wedding ourselves.... The least they could do is support us emotionally you know... Sorry for the rant but it annoys me that as organized as I have been thus far now we get to the end and the only things that aren't complete are the things I left up to others....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
