Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

HOLA!!!!!!

I can't believe I FINALLY finished reading this 188-page thread!!! smile36.gif OMG, sooooo much helpful information!! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to answer the many questions asked.

Our wedding date is set for January 30, 2010. We chose the Bahia Principe Akumal. It was a super-difficult decision because BP Tulum and BP Coba are fantastic too!!

I'm so excited about this trip and our wedding on the beach!!!! This forum has helped me to know what to expect and has already made the experience a lot more "relaxed".

Thank you - thank you - thank you!!! smile03.gif

That being said, I'll probably have tons of questions once we get closer to the date, when I am required to make actual decisions!!!

Cheers!!!

Hey emme - We did bubba kegs for our OOT bags too and the guests loved them! I'm sure your guests will too :) Yeah for Canadian Tire having them on sale (man I miss that place). We ended up buying ours online because everywhere here was sold out of the limited edition aqua colored ones and we wanted the ones with the bottle openers on them hehe. And KRama, you're right, it was a bit of a logistical nightmare getting them to Mexico. At midnight, the night before our flight to Cancun, we took one look at the mountain of luggage in our living room (2 large suitcases, 2 garment bags, 2 small suitcases, 1 backpack, 1 large purse.... and one giant Home Depot box full of big ol Bubba Kegs and favors) and decided to upgrade to first class. In first class we got 3 checked bags each at 70 lbs, so it worked out fine thank goodness.

Also, I finally got around to doing my wedding review. Here is the link. I'll post more pictures once I get the proof CD from our photographer.

I am laughing so hard at the amount of luggage you took with you. I hope I don't have that much, I am sure it'll be tons aswell. Too funny that was a good morning chuckle

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
