BeachBum,

Carolina quoted me at $60 per person for the beach reception and ipod docking is allowed, which is great since you can have the music you love and not spend the extra $$ on DJ. I am waiting to hear back about renting out the Aricefe for a private party versus the beach. I think I read in an earlier post it's $1,000, which would be cheaper for me as I am expecting/hoping for 40+ people (which would come out to $2,400). Does anyone else have more info on renting out the restaurant??

CaribbeanLover,
I'm thinking of wearing my dress for the whole thing, even though I know it'll be very hot. I'm just wondering if brides normally wear their dresses to the disco or if they change into something lighter...

I will be having an AHR as well but I still feel like I want to wear my dress for the day in Punta Cana as that will be THE wedding day. Any thoughts on this anybody?

Hey, I can speak for myself and say that I wore my dress from about 3pm till I took it off at the end of the night. It was pretty darn hot wearing it at the disco and I wish I had something light for dancing. And it got pretty dirty on the bottom from the disco sludge. I did my TTD in my dress also and the salt water cleaned all the grime away so I was able to wear it to my AHR back home as well (without even drycleaning in between!). So I got 3 wears out of my dress. If you have another dress to wear when you go to the disco I would suggest using it unless your dress is already really light.

I know that I paid really good money for my dress, and plan on wearing it once.....I want to feel like a princess the whole day long. I want to wake up and put it on......If I had it now, I would probably sneak a dress up time here and there!!! I even thought of going to the bridal store and trying there's on again!!! I can't wait till mine comes in!!!

I ordered my dress over a year ago, and only getting it next month.I did go to a bridal store to try it on again, LOL I had to!!
I too paid allot of money for my first dress so I will wear it as long as possible. But I did get an off the rack dress for cheap for the disco, and the TTD ,since we are doing AHR I wanted to keep the $$ dress in good condition for at home. The second dress I spend $95 so maybe jenmyl you could consider buying a cheap dress you wouldn't worry about getting dirty.

I got a hold of Carolina a couple of weeks back and tried to book a restaurant and a gazebo, she told me that all will be decided and booked once I arrived.....yyyaaargghhh!!!!! It's driving me crazy!!!!!! The only thing I can plan ahead right now is the menu for the reception...I just can't wait and leave it till 2 days prior to my wedding.....I choose to go away for the simplicity of it all, but this is crazy.....lol

If you pick or get La Uva restaurant your able to pick each item from any of the menu's on the resort's. If you get the buffet restaurant you only have one menu (restaurant) to choose from. Carolina will print your menu's once you have pick with her for your reception dinner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
