Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

got a more detailed email from Ana today (the new WC) confirming all my details. Think things at DRC are coming along nicely now that she is at the actual resort. She is supposed to send me more photos of the resort wedding/reception locations soon. Will post as soon as I get them.

I don't have the spa prices but I have heard that you can get the info if you email Pedro Castillo at Spa@dreamsrivieracancun.com.mx.

Are you planning on getting married at Dreams RC? If so, I believe the wedding packages come with a free bride and groom massage.

Is anyone doing the symbolic ceremony instead of the legal ceremony? I think we have decided to, just to avoid any complications and extra fees. We are thinking of doing the legal thing AFTER the actual ceremony in Mexico. We want the first time that we say vows to be on the beach in front of family and friends. We don't want to make a big deal of the legal ceremony at all....just to make it seem as though the beach ceremony is the "real" thing. Do you happen to know if the resort requires a marriage certificate in order to have a symbolic ceremony. I have heard that some resorts require this and therefore we would have to do the legal ceremony before going to Mexico. Just wondering if anyone has looked into this yet.

Hey ladies -

I'm looking to get married in September 2010 either at Azul Sensatori or Dreams Riviera Cancun. I have a few questions maybe you can help with!

1. Have any of you talked to Ana about doing additional private parties and what options we have? For example, we want to do a welcome reception and a rehearsal dinner and possibly an after party after the reception. I got the pricing for the private reception but no menu options...Did any of you get that information?

2. Did anyone have pictures sent to them of the reception / ceremony locations?

Thanks!

From what I gather about private events, if you chose to do either of the Dreams of Love or Dreams Ultimate packages you may be able to forgo the One hour Silver Cocktail Party with hors dâ€oeuvres (for up to 20 guests) and do a welcome cocktail party instead, but they may still charge if you want a private event. As for the after party after the reception, we will be doing this as well. What I have read from other resorts is that the party continues in the disco at the resort as long as there is one and it is open. Not too sure about the disco and the hours for Dreams RC.

Locations for the wedding and reception have not been sent out yet. I am waiting for pictures from Ana. She sent an email to me the other day and mentioned that she will send them out as soon as they are available. Once I get them I will try to post on here for everyone. I am sure if anyone else get's photos they will post as well. Until then it is a waiting game for certain info on this resort.
Hope this helps a little?

That's a great idea about having the Cocktail hour before the ceremony. The guests can easily go to one of the bars and have a drink or two after the ceremony while photo's are being taken then go to the reception for dinner. It would also depend on where the bars are located in relation to the reception venue.

Well, depending on the wedding package you chose the one-hour cocktail hour is included already. What some other brides have done (at one of the other Dreams Resorts in Mexico) is NOT have the one-hour cocktail party and instead arrange for a cocktail hour on another night. So for welcome drinks instead or something.

You can of course opt to not have a package. This is the document that I received from Claudia at the Dreams Cancun Resort but the options I would think would be the same for Dreams RC. Keep in mind that these are the prices for 2008-2009.

Also attached is a document that I received from the Dreams Tulum location with the flower choice options and a few other things.

Hope this helps some of you with your choices...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
