I'm not sure what I'd categorize mine as. I thought I'd end up w/ a beachy chiffon dress, but never loved any of them. And like you, K, like all my dresses are flowy w/ empire waists so maybe that's why I didn't feel as special in them. I ended up w/ what I was first attracted to though - lace in a sheath/trumpet style. So maybe Mexico-beachy? I dunno.

David's Bridal - Allover beaded lace trumpet gown with empire waist and cap sleeves.

Oh, and K, I also just posted a response on your NY brides thread about TTD.

I love this dress! What material is it? Do you know if the material breaths? That is my main concern.

Here's a dress that I am considering. It is silk chiffon and is so light weight and comfortable, yet it is very elegant. Take a look at the beads on the back of the dress. I love it! I'm still looking a bit. But this one is nice because it still looks flattering but is light weight. Thought I would share with anyone struggling on light weight vs. glam!

I think this dress has both!

When I tell the consultants at the bridal shops that it is a destination wedding they steer me towards taffeta and organza gowns, they said NO SILK since it is really hot and silk will show sweat if it is form fitting. I don't want a heavy gown just because it will be hot but I do not know the style... I love so many traditional but I love the beachy ones too! how do you decide?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
