She suggested 5PM but I am nervous that the sun sets early in DEC and we may not get many pics in the daylight. On the flipside the pool activities are still going on until 5PM so if we do it eariler there will be lots of people at the pool (right in front of where we are getting married). Do any of you know anything about weather patterns or sunsets in Jamaica. I have searched all over the internet and have not found anything useful.
Hi Sparkles, I found this link that tells you sunrise and sunset times for every day of the year in Montego Bay:

2009 December Sunrise and Sunset - Montego Bay, Jamaica in Caribbean

So according to this the sun will set at 5:23 on 12/4/09.

My wedding is in April and I'm thinking I'll have the ceremony at 4 or 4:30 to make sure we'll have enough daylight to take pictures after.

Hi, everyone. Thank you for the time information. It is really helpful. I got my wedding dress this week and I am so excited. Also, I went to a wedding show a couple of weeks ago and found three photographers willing to go to Jamaica so we booked our photographer for Jamaica yesterday. I also bought $3.00 OOT bags from Walmart. They are great.

Besides that we have bought a lot of stuff for our AHR and things are coming along. How are things going for everyone else?

I got my wedding dress this week too :)

The person who was going to do our cake let me know today that she just found out she is expecting and won't be able to do it since her due date is close to the wedding date. She said she'll put me in touch with another good baker in Montego Bay so hopefully I hear something back soon.

The photographer is the main thing I haven't worked out yet. I have seen a lot of photographers' work that I like but I wasn't prepared to spend over $2K. I may end up asking a friend to do it if I can't find anyone with a good price who does photo-journalistic style.

Hellooo Ladies!

Sparkles - I too am getting married in the beginning of December, but in 2010 wink.gif I found this info about Jamaica weather patterns somewhere on this forum. I think we picked a GREAT time of year :)

Jamaica Weather | jamaica-guide.info

Since i have more than year of planning, I havent accomplished much yet blush2.gif but I think we are going to honeymoon at the Grand. I also pretty much have my photographer booked too. But nothing has been permanently checked off my to-do list except insuring my engagement ring. LOL.

I am using Jim Fish Photography from here in ST. Louis. He is so nice. Give him a call and talk to him about it. I know that every situation is different for him. Jim Fish Photography

My fiance and I went shopping last night and I found the earrings, necklace, and braclet for my MOH and bridesmaid. I'm pretty excited b/c I've had trouble finding something that I liked and that I thought they'd like....I'm pretty satisfied. I did end up spending over $50.00 on myself for jewelry (not for wedding I already had that) and I already have enough of that crap. But it's all so cute. smile29.gif

I made a list today of the things I have bought and the things I still need to buy. I've bought a lot but the list of things to still buy seems never ending.

Last night @ Target I bought this cute folder with different dividers in it. I labeled every section and have organized all of my receipts in there. It was only $1.00. I feel a bit more organized.:)

Does anyone know anything about the HUPPA @ the Iberostar resort. I want to take some material to Jamaica to add some color to it. I need to know the measurements of it.

Also, I thought I saw a bride on here who was doing a site visit @ this resort soon. Anyone know what happened with that? I cannot find any planning threads or wedding reviews from this resort.

Thanks for listening to me ramble....

Thanks for this great info!!! I am def moving my time from 5pm to 4:30 or maybe even 4:15 now. I also want to make sure we get pics with the sunlight and better to have too much than not enough. Also, my photographer had a good point that with the chance of rain pushing things back a few minutes it's better to have things eariler so we can just push them back and still have sunlight. Thanks again!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
