We are considering having a private function outside at around 8pm. The thing is that in Cancun it is still around 26 degrees at that time.

Has anyone done this? How did you find the weather in your dress? I can't help but think it will just be too hot for everyone.

HELP!!

Well it is Mexico so your guests will probably expect it to be hot....

I would put somewhere on your website or in your information to your guests to dress appropriately for an outside reception.. Also maybe provide hand held fans for your guests?

How is it for a bride in a big wedding dress though?

Hi,

Well I am only planning on doing this once so I am going to stay in it for the whole day. :)

I am also worried that the cake will mealt a little or because we are outside in the dark you are not going to be able to see the pictures very well. :~

Those are all very reasonable fears. You can ask the hotel to keep the cake inside until it is time to present it. If you are having an outdoor nighttime reception you should work with your photographer closely to make sure he has adequate lighting. Are you having it poolside, where there are lights, or under a cabana, that is also lit? If not, you may need to bring extra lighting. You can do something fun with colors if you would like. Regarding your dress, it sounds like you already have yours picked out, but if not, this should certainly be something you consider when you shop for one. I had mine made, because I wanted it to be weather appropriate. It was very comfortable, but I imagine something satin and with lots of bustles may get uncomfortable. Especially in the May humidity.

Some other Moon Palace brides were saying that it is very very hot even late. I am going to have my reception indoors because I want everyone to be comfortable. Do you know how much more it is to have it inside? I have been advised to get a dress made of taffeta, chiffon, or organza because it is light and flowy so it will be cooler.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
