If you look at tripadvisor, #7 is Grand Palladium Bavaro which is where we are getting married. They have great packages and it's a lovely resort. We expect 80 guests and are having a gazebo wedding, champagne toast, private reception (only $1000 extra) and dancing for 5.5 hours after the ceremony. Carolina is the WC and she is great. Just like the other WC she tries to respond asap, you just have to stay on top of them, if no response. We did a tour of the rooms and the spaces and it is going to be great! Other reviews of the resort and weddings were also very good.

Good luck!

I think that people need to stay away from trip advisor when trying to decide on a hotel, since it only adds to the confusion!! We were originally thinking Dreams Punta Cana, but now we might be going to the Iberostar Bavaro... I wish I'd just listened to my TA who told me that Dreams wedding parties are never disappointed! ugh so confused too!

Can you give me the web address for the Grand Palladium? The only thing that come up when I google it is trip advisor.

Thanks

I am biased but the beach forsure forsure forsure is nicer at Paradisus Punta Cana vs. Dreams Punta Cana anyway. We stayed at Paradisus for our wedding which was gorgeous....well kept, lots of room, comfy well kept lounging chairs and beds. The terrace at Paradisus was half indoorish with open areas to the outside, in the main lobby area but very private.

We went to dreams for our second honeymoon week....we were not impressed.... dreams beach had pricklies when you walked on the sand...the ocean was filled with random coral which cut our feet so we barely went in the ocean. it was small..you look to the right you see garbage, you look to the left you see garbage and are in the middle of no where...there is no where to walk and nothing to see and KIDS!!

Also the terrace at Dreams is overlooking the garden area, nowhere near the ocean...actually it is right by a HUGE kids area...

If you send me a message with your email I can send pics...I just am not good at adding them on here! Good luck!

Figured it out! Don't get me wrong there are some beautiful areas at Dreams as well...here is a pictures of my favorite tree there!! Unfortunatly a vendor guy sets up his table underneath it most of the days! Click the image to open in full size.

but if you walk a little further that direction it looks like this

There is no difference in the wedding's at any of the 3 (4 if you cout royal) resort. First I told the WC we all would be staying at the Punta Cana side, but then decided to go with the royal for I and the future husband, since we are staying there, the wedding will be on the Bavaro side.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
