welcome back michele! how are you invites coming??

hi shortnsweet!! i like your idea of getting a feel for how many of the first group of people want to come and maybe sending more STDs/invites based on that. it's one of those problems that sounds so funny to be worried about.. too many people wanting to be there for your wedding! are you actually getting married on the boat or somewhere else in miami?

welcome katie! i think you may be the 4th or 5th 4/24 bride! such a popular date!

i just got off the phone with the store i bought my dress at... it's been 6 months since i ordered it and haven't heard anything so i wanted to check. the girl told me they got it in THREE WEEKS after i ordered it and no one let me know! thank goodness i called them! i scheduled my first fitting for 10/10.. can't wait to put it on again and see how my hair flower looks with it!

also ordered my wedding band this weekend and majorly lucked out. my e-ring is a different shape and doesn't have it's own band. the jewelry store i went to specializes in custom work and the owner told me he'd order a band for a similar e-ring to see if it would fit. he said the chances were slim, but it would be much less expensive. well i went saturday and the shape matches PERFECTLY. it's going to end up being about 1/2 the price.. so happy to have that taken care of!

also, our last family members that we needed to book finally did it yesterday! that's my whole fam, FI's whole fam and my best friend. one of FI's groomsmen still needs to book, but anyone above and beyond that will just be extra.

Hi Ladies....

I said Hi back a while ago...but just recently started back into planning mode..

Getting Married April 19th 2010

So far I have 24 people coming not too bad. I have found some great deals for my OOT bags and I have decieded to make my own flowers...

But I can't find a dress.....everything else is coming so easy to me but my dress. I love modern couture type style...and just can't find "the one" People keep scaring me cause I am looking at designer dresses and i know I am going to need 4-5 months for the dress to come in plus I will need some major alterations ( thanks to my hips!!)

Has anyone else not yet found thier dress??

aww.. poor thing you. I am sure you'll find the one, just have to keep searching. I found a couple of website with all their dresses. I found a few I liked, try them on and found it. Could be a way for you. I ended up getting a church dress when plans were to have in town wedding, so I had to go buy another, lighter one for dancing and enjoying my day since they other would be way to hot for all day!

Good luck!!! keep us post about your search

nikicrosby - not sure where you live in Canada but one of the websites that you could check is bridal image mississauga - just google.

Found two dresses - one long to wear for the ceremony and reception back in Canada and a short one for the dance at the resort and hopefully to wear to take pictures the next day near or in the ocean.

Good luck in finding a dress

To all April 2010 brides

I just wanted to find out where everyone is in their planning as it is almost Sept.

We have:

- booked the resort - facebook information sent - 30 people booked & more confirmed

- location of wedding ceremony and private reception booked at resort

- two dresses purchased - one long & one short

- wedding package decided

- wedding reception back in Canada booked

- few gifts purchased for guests travelling to resort (not doing oot bags)

- play list for Ipod started - 17 hours of songs but will need to go through to slim down considerably

Where is everyone else in the planning as I want to make sure that we are not falling behind.

* sorry for the novel - bored at work!! * shots.gif

hey ladies! i am just getting back into the forum again...was going through an "off phase". life is totally crazy...don't try and close on a house the same time you are planning a DW. it's pretty much hell and my hair is turning white just thinking about it...i think it is really great to see where you are all at, in terms of planning - really helps to put it into perspective and make me think about things i wouldn't have thought about otherwise...so, THANKS!

here's the list of what i've gotten done so far:

- 2 properties booked for where we are staying with our families and close friends (38ppl total)...the email has been sent to everyone invited to stay there re: cost per room, etc.

- Las Caletas booked, Kelley is our fabulous WC

- Dress and shoes purchased

- My hairstylist booked (a friend!)

- Photographer booked

- decided on bouquet (all sunflowers)

- Invites all stuffed and ready to be sent (going on 9/14...rsvp due 2/1)

- Welcome party ready to go, cigar roller booked for that.

- 7ppl booked

NEED TO DO soooon:

- really need to get on the boy and hit the stores before all of the summer-y clothes are off the racks...have you guys gotten your FI, GM and BM attire together yet or is it a continual work in progress?

- start working on my cage veil...want to try dying the cage blue - have a GREAT website for the russian lace if anyone wants it, jsut PM me, i don't have the info on me this minute. anyone else doing a cage veil and making it yourself??

- book a make-up artist and hairstylist for my officiant (a BFF) and BM...don't think the bridesMAN will need that... :P

- keep my eyes peeled for a TTD - don't think vera would appreciate being dipped in the salt water. wink.gif

- PACK PACK PACK AND MOVE INTO OUR NEW HOUSE!

Need to do eventually:

- ipod playlists (one each for: chillin' at the casa, welcome party, the bridal kasita at LC for the day of with my girls (and 2 gay boys!), boat ride to and from LC, ceremony song (i'm thinking of walking to ray lamontagne), reception,

- buy a couple of minoHD flips to use to film everything...in lieu of videographer we are setting a couple cameras around and having ppl pick 'em up as they see fit and just have a couple of days where we cut all of the footage together when we come home...that way we pay the same amount of $$ but can keep the camera's! we will have a nice HD videocam that my bro will use to tape the ceremony.

- OOT bags (so far have chicken poop chapstick, cards, spanish for dummies)

- maybe make little passports that we send to guests about 3 wks before the wedding that has a lot of useful info

- anyone else doing your own flower centerpieces??

Oh, I am totally thinking of trying a DIY birdcage veil! I need to try some on first to decide if it looks good on me with my dress.
They are SO expensive, this will be a very worthwhile DIY!
Keep me posted on how yours is coming along!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
