The idea about waiting for the disco would appeal to me if it wasn't that so many older realtives will be attending who I can't picture partying at the disco. lol.
We have a few older people going, But were still going to the disco, if they don't want to go, thats fine, I understand. The disco doesn't open until 11 I think, so some of my guests will be asleep by then anyways I'm sure wink.gif lol

Hi ladies,

Which of the bars do you think would serve as a good spot for welcome drinks? We wanted to have an informal meet and greet two days before the wedding so they guests can get to know each other, etc. and we'd give out the OOT bags IF they charge. We're staying at Royal Suites, but some of our guests are in the Palace section.

Does anyone know if the resort will give out the OOT bags at the guests' check in?

Beachbum, my recommendation for the bar would be Hemingways. It is the premium bar on the Bavaro section of the resort. It serves all the premium liquor (included in the package), as well as all the regular stuff, has lovely indoor seating and a fun terrace patio. I believe it is also a cigar bar if any of your guests enjoy cigars. I didn't have access to the Royal section when I was there, so maybe there is something equally/more beautiful on your section. As far as the OOT bags....I'm sure if you asked, they would do it, after all, you are the bride! Ask Carolina b/c she is also the manager of Guest Services!

Hey everyone,

I am having a horrible time with this website. Whenever I try to sign in it says I am viewing as a guest and I have figured out a round about way to be signed on, but it changes by the page I am viewing. It's weird.

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying there planning. I am starting to feel the stress of it. We are just trying to figure out the all-inclusive packages. So far they seem a bit pricey but I don't want to wait to long and not be able to get booked.

Is everyone all booked already?

What resorts are you staying at?

It seems like the Bavaro is the most popular and expensive resort but I don't know, I think they will all be great.

Shankd, that is cool we are getting married the same day. I requested around 3:30 or 4pm for the ceremony. Are you getting married on the beach or in the gazebo? I haven't fully decided yet.

If anyone has the menus, would you mind emailing them to me at [email protected]

Sperger, thanks for the recommendation for HDC photo. I booked with them and I am super excited. His work looks great and he is so nice.

In response to the private reception. I considered this but I think it is too pricey. It sounds like the restaurants are set up nice and going to the disco after will be fun.

Well I look forward to hearing back from you ladies. If any of you are from western Canada I would be interested in hearing what you AI package prices worked out to be. It's hard planning for 40-50 people.

Oh, and if anyone feels like sharing, I'm curious about what kind of wedding sandals you are wearing and if where you bought them. I suppose the beginning of fall is not the best time to start looking but it will work out either way.

If anyone is interested I have pictures now of the centerpieces the resort has. Most are flowers, but there is one with candles and shells on a round mirror which is quite nice
Hi! I just got back from a wedding in N.S so I couldn't check in the last 8 days, seems allot of new people are getting married at the same resort. I haven't try contacting her so I wonder how long it would take to answer the few q I do have.

I would love to see some pics of the centerpieces. as I am a little worried bring my own due to weight issues of our luggage.

carribeanlover, let me know your email and I'll send you those pics

as for dance, Carolina said no to Mark and I having our first dance at the restaurant, but she has suggested the gazebo or beach for this, which could be fun. I guess we just bring a CD player, some drinks and party under the stars

FYI, you can't pick your music for the reception unless you book the whole place.

Hi, TrinaK,

My travel agent in Chicago encouraged us to book either the Palace or the Turquesa suites as we are tentatively planning to stay for the honeymoon, and allow the guests to choose the specific resort they would like to stay at based on price preference/budget. After doing research on Apple Vacations, the price difference (at least flying out from Chicago) was less than $90 (Punta Cana vs. Palace section) for 7 nights. Most of our guests are coordinating to stay within the same section (Palace) for convinience.

I'm sure you and your guests will be spending the majority of the time out of the rooms and there are shuttles, exchange privilages, ect, so I don't think you can make the wrong choice here.

trinak, I wouldn't worry about the rooms, your never in your room, so for me as long as the bed sheets are clean and the AC works, I'm good to go, however, your guests might be different then me :S But I really wouldn't worry about it.

And...I emailed Carolina on the 11th, she didn't email be back, so, I emailed her on the 18th as a reminder email, she didn't email me back.....is anyone else having this problem with her, When we decided to have a DW I didn't think I would be involved in the planning as much as I hvae been, but sence I realize there are alot of decisions to make I would at lease like her to return my emails!!!

awww....I just had to vent!! lol

carribeanlover, How did your wedding go?? Did you enjoy NS??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
