I'd give you points to do that, but I dont have access to the vbPlaza ... dang!

I haven't been around much, ladies, but I wanted to pop in and say hi. And a special welcome to the "newer" Caletas brides .. I never get tired of hearing about the details and seeing the pictures.

Hi ladies,

I am planning on getting married in PV and was thinking of possibly Las Caletas. Since there are almost 200 pages of this thread, I was hoping those of you who are planning or have already wed there could answer my questions...

I am already legally married (Justice of the Peace), but we never got a chance to really celebrate, so we're planning on a religious ceremony and a party with friends and family. The guest list might be about 150 people (including children and babies), so I was wondering what the cost of a buffet would be at Las Caletas for this number of people? And what's the average rate for a Fri/Sat/Sun at the end of April?

Right now, my plan is to get married at the Botanic Gardens. The total cost for 150 people, food & drinks (plus tip), site fee, coordination fee, tip for wait staff, and transportation for the whole group (3 buses) is about $4500 USD. I was wondering how Las Caletas might compare in costs?

We're also planning on a church ceremony, and from what I've read, it might be $300 USD for that. For those who got married or are getting married at Our Lady of Guadalupe, what was the process to get married there?

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

we were seriously considering the botanical gardens as well and when crunching the numbers and comparing them, there really wasn't much of a difference. the initial figure looks a lot larger at LC but when you start thinking about all the extra vendors you need to add on to the botanical garden figures, it all evens out. i was blown away by the per person cost of food and the ridiculously inexpensive site rental & coordination fee of the gardens, but start adding the rest in and it makes sense. BUT - you are saying your total cost for 150 is 4500 USD and when we looked into it and added in entertainment, drinks, etc...for 80 (at the end of april), it was about 8K...

one thing that made a MAJOR difference in our decision was the boat ride to LC. hands down, decision was made not 10 minutes out of the marina. the ride to the gardens by bus is windy and really not too exciting to look at.

so i guess what i'm saying is that i feel we are definitely getting more bang for our buck at LC over the gardens, and our guests are, without a doubt, going to appreciate the whole experience, start to finish, beginning with the boat ride much more.

wow, i feel i must sound so biased! ha - sorry about that...but know that i think the gardens are absolutely incredible and stunning...an excellent choice.

keep us posted on your decision!

I am using them in November and will be happy to give some feedback then...so far, I've been totally thrilled with Kelley and the level of service! I think I've gone through every slideshow they have!!! It all starts to look the same, but the good news is, my guests won't know that!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
