***TTD (Trash the Dress) Thread - please post all of your questions here!

Recommended Posts

I have noticed a lot of people on here that get 2 dresses - one for the ceremony and 1 less formal dress for the TTD from J crew or ebay or something. I have also read on here that the dress really doesnt get "trashed" - it is just sand and water and gets almost completely clean by rinsing it out or getting it cleaned.

With that being said, this is my second marriage and I can honestly say that my other wedding dress just sat in the basement and collected dust... there really is no need to keep it . In my opinion, the photos with you wearing it are better than keeping the dress all beautiful in a box.... If I trash the dress , I am trashing the dress wink.gif I think you ladies have convinced me to do it

Hey all

We are doing a ttd session, as we weren't going to have a party back home on our return, so i wasn't worried about it at all - as i wasn't planning on bringing the dress back.

But no we are toying with the idea of having a party when we come back - so i'm looking for some advice. My dress is costing me over $2900 - its my dream dress, so i'm not prepared to spend more money on 2nd dress. Sooo, my dress is silk - from past ttd'ers - will a silk dress clean up as new after the ttd session?! Or should I just forget it?! Luckily i'm not too bothered if you say no chance, as its not life or death that we have the party when we come back!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
