Went band shopping today!

Recommended Posts

We went band shopping again today. Unfortunately since we had sorta looked at bands the first time we went ring shopping (before we were engaged) I had found one that I sorta liked and so Martin went ahead and bought it. It was just a very simple plain, thin white gold band. Luckily it was less than $100. Anyways, I think we're going to try and sell that one and we've been shopping for something with a little more "bling". wink.gif

After going to 3 jewelry stores today we found one that fits REALLY well with my E-Ring! I want to get y'alls opinions on it tho - is it too flashy, too much? That is my only hesitation. There are 2 sizes, one is .25 total carat weight and the other is .5 Believe it or not, Martin is actually pushing for the larger one (lol).

Here is my E-Ring (1 carat total weight, very sparkly in person):

Here is the Wedding Band: (Only difference is this one is the smaller one, the other one has two more diamonds and ends with 2 baguettes on the sides instead of circles, just like my E-Ring. Well, actually it has two more circles on the ends but we'd have those removed and it would match up perfectly...)

Let me know what you guys think!

I think its really nice, not too blingy at all. I think its perfect. I would go with the small one though, but that is just me. Most girls will say go big, but I am not one of them. lol

I can't believe you picked out your band already, we just got ours yesterday. lol

Haha, I know - we are so ahead of the curve on that lol

The deal with the small one is that the diamond shapes don't match up like they do with the larger one. That, and the larger one does seem a little more to scale with my E-Ring. So it's not really a decision between the two, cause the larger one just happens to work better.

My only concern is that the set will be too blingy (vs. a plain band or something like that). Martin doesn't think it does tho, and he's pretty honest about that kind of stuff. He says it looks "classy and elegant" but I just wanna make sure and get a few opinions before we commit. I guess it's kinda hard to tell over the comp because they are both so much more sparkly in person.

Than I say go for it. I do not think it will take away from your ering, it will look great and sparkly together. So, get it. lol Or, wait a while and seeif something better comes along, you have a long time. lol

I think it's perfect! Is there really such thing as too blingy ?!?! Lol... actually, yes there is, but no I do NOT think you are overstepping that line between gorgeous and gaudy. I say go for it!

We are actually going to get my WBs tomorrow. I just broke the news a few weeks ago that I want two :) My one justification is that we don't have to buy him a ring because he'll be wearing his father's (which was also his grandfather's)

Get the ring if it matches nicely, it is not always easy to find the perfect match, trust me, it's why I have had to have my band made.

I think it works perfectly, and not too much bling at all, it is very pretty.

You really are ahead of the game I am leaving in less then 2 months, and just ordered my ring, won't be ready for 4 to 5 weeks, I am really not ahead of the game.LOL

Thanks for all of your input ladies. :)

Jules - lol, I know we have a ton of time to choose them! (Hey, at least it's one thing out of the way, right! cheesy.gif) But, there is a sale going on right now. I know another sale will probably come along, but I don't want to lose out on this style since it is almost a perfect match. We went back to the place where we got my E Ring today and it wasn't there. I would have been so bummed if I had missed out! And we found out it would be about double for most jewelers to have one custom made, which we originally thought we were going to have to do.

Susan - That's exactly what I was wondering - if it was crossing the "gaudy" line. Thanks for the reassurance! wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
