Speaking of djs, Joanna - you had the poolside reception on the Tulum side. Were you allowed to play your own music via an iPod, or did you need to have a dj (resort or otherwise?).

We used DJ Bob and he is was awesome! I think we paid $350 (I think) for 3 hours. Having a dj really saved us a lot of time, as we did not have to create a play list, it also allowed our guest to request songs that believe me we would never of had on our play list. Our guests danced the night away and we all had a blast. Also DJ Bob is orig. from NJ so he speaks perfect english.

Please HELP!! I am making my own programs and I asked Karla about the order of the ceremony but she didn't have anything official. The only thing she said was...

"Sorry I do not have a copy of his ceremony, usually he start with a pray, then talk about the couple, marriage , love, makes a blessisng, exchange rings, vows, adn declares you husband and wife. In general this is the order, if you want to make other kind of ceremony just let me know and I will tell to the Minister there is no problem. You will do your own program"

I'm not positive...but I think it's only missing the part about signing the registry (?)...and then we would want to add vows to our kids.

Is there anyone that might have something that I can use for reference? Has anyone else done their own programs? THANKS :)

We wrote our own ceremony and told them how we wanted the flow to be.

Perfect!! Do you still have a copy of the order? If not, I will do a search and see if there is a thread about this type of thing. I don't have the foggiest idea about what order things should be in...or even the "official" name of what each section (ie. declaration) is called embarrest.gif

Thanks for your help!!

I can honestly say were were not impressed with the minister at all... watching the video is kinda funny cause we were like WTF? She was not a good speaker, her English was fine, but she kept repeating herself about love... it was weird... and at one point she called Hank Hannah!!! But, after all was said and done, we read our vows and that was important. I would make a program just stating wedding party members, family, that kind of thing... and your songs... processional... all that. The ceremony is quick, and we didn't even have a program, and not one person mentioned it. We had like 55 guests, but we were very low key about most things. Everything happened, and it was all good. Kind of have to go with the flow. (Usually I can be a bit of a control freak lol )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
