Hi. yes the lobby bar is probably the best "Rendezvous" I plan on squeezing all 75 of my guests in there Friday (14th) eve for our Meet and Greet. :) I heard it was what a lot of other brides did as well. I arrive the day of your wedding? is it at the gazebo. I can sneak and look at it out my window (from Tower) :))))

She is trying to make us happy and I REALLY appreciate her quick responses. I think the spa terrace it is. We will have to hope our guests can handle not seeing the ocean for a few hours! Heck, we are from LA, it is not like we aren't blessed with that great view on a regular basis.

You all are wonderful! Thank you.
Glad to hear that your feeling better about the reception location move! i read through a few older reviews and found one that had a spa reception:

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t35127

her name is Cali and Im sure you could pm her if you have questions. she does have a few pics on there, check it out.

just look at it this way- you are going to be partying in a "special" location that they dont allow to brides anymore, so it will be even more private and something different. theres no ocean but there is a nice water fountain :)

What do you guys think?
I think that you will be fine w/o the cocktail hour. I have read many posts on here and people say they can just go to any bar and have cocktails, the only thing they would miss out on is appetizers and if u want to just save money, I would do it this way. I am skipping cocktail hour as well. During this time, you and your party will be taking pictures as well.

Honestly, u you can go without. I did and it worked out just fine. We were taking pictures quite a long time but there was a bar right in the tower building byt he gazebo. When I returned from taking pictures IO arrived at the beach and my guests were seated and applauded us as we entered the reception. The appetizers are no big deal either. Let's face it...it is an all inclusive resort. If you are hungry eat before you come. There is a a 3 course meal for the reception, also.

I will only have 40-45 ppl total with the 60 invites but I guess I could wait until all the people RSVP next year to decide all that. because if less that 40 come then its no big deal to just keep it on there...

this is true. you may want to know your count, but they definitely let you trade. i only got 10 ppl but hey thats actually like getting $600 since the reception over the 20ppl in the package is $about 58 per person with the tax and gratuity.........

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
