Chocolate Brides: Hair Question

Recommended Posts

Instead of dyeing or bleaching your hair maybe you can try a hair rinse. I don't know what color you're looking for but it's a safe alternative to coloring. It rinses out after several washes but it's much better for your hair.

By the way i love my flower (altho I didnt think it was worth the price) but my blusher is too small. So I'm sending ti back today and she's making me a bigger one... I never knew I had a big heads lol...

I'm contemplating dying my hair. My loctician is all ab taking care of your hair and bc my hair has broken off so much she's not willing to bleach and dye it. I was thinking of getting someone else to dye it and just have her take care of my hair (so rude right). I wanna dye it this summer so that by nov the color will be locked in and not run when I get in the water and stuffhuh.gif i'm just scared that I'll break my hair off more...

I used to have locs and I used to use henna dyes/hair rinses to change my colour. Rinses/henna dyes don't give you a DRASTIC change, but it does add a nice hue to your hair.

I bleached mine in efforts to change my colour one summer. BIG MISTAKE (for me). My hair colour looked great for a while...but when the colour faded it out...my ends looked blond and dry. I had to keep dying it to cover it up. That only dried out my hairsad.gif

If you are having breakage problems now and you intend to keep the colour after the wedding, you may need to change your current routine a bit and research new products that will work for colour treated hair.

Good luck!

Hey ladies thanx for all ur advice.

My Loctician thinks that my breakage has to do with stress. I've bleached my hair in the past and it stayed rather healthy, with me keeping is oiled and greased. For me rinses are a waste of energy. I have alotta hair I can barely see a diff (except in the sunlite bc then it's really pretty). But yea I think I'll be holding off on the dye for a little while.

I am having the same problem ochiebride! My hair is unrelaxed and really long, usually I wear it in twists. I can imagine going to the resort to get my hair done and them just staring at it not knowing what to do!

I also contemplated getting it blown out (if they know how) but that takes so long, and I wouldn't look like myself. The other option is do it myself in my usual style but that is not special for the wedding. hmmm, did you find any ideas?

in post 337 I put a link to a website with some ideas. I'm going with a straw set twist with a big flower on the side

Ok I'm going for a trial next Wednesday. I had a custom version of this hairpiece made from a seller on Etsy. Click the image to open in full size.

I am going to go for some sort of low updo with it. I'm thinking something like this. Click the image to open in full size.

It isn't a good photo since it only shows one side but I told me stylist to just come up with something. Hopefully I'll like it! I have a veil too so I'm thinking I'll just wear that down the aisle, but the rest of the night, do the hair piece. I don't know if they'll look go together.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
