FI and I are still going back and forth about which package we are going to go with. I'm kind of leaning towards the Mint Breeze package, because we really don't need to spend a great deal of money on a reception down in Mexico when there are only in the ballpark of 20 people going, and we're having a big AHR when we get home.

That being said, I didn't want to go with the Blueberry Dream package, because I still want to be able to have a private dinner with my guests, so I don't feel like we're being put on display like animals in a zoo in one of the a la cartes (I have really bad social anxiety, so these are the types of things that I worry about).

Another thing that I had looked into doing, but I think we're going to forego is doing the free coconut wedding, and then just renting a catamaran and doing a dinner on there with all of our guests, rather than being in a banquet hall or on th beach. This looked like a great idea on paper, but when we looked in to it, it was going to cost us in the range of 6,000 just to do a decent dinner for us and our guests and to be out for a fair amount of time...just not realistic for us when we're fresh out of school and still paying off debts.

Other than the ceremony itself I've been woking quite a bit on some possible excursion ideas in leui of a welcome dinner the first night our guests arrive. We're a bit more of an unconventional couple, so this is something that I think will be a bit more appropriate for our circumstances.

I've got quite a bit more notes here, but I don't want to bore you. I'd be happy to give you some idea though, and help in any way I can!

Hi everyone!

We've just put a date on hold for the Barcelo Maya Palace for our wedding!

I have a quick question. I just got an email saying that we have to be in Mexico for 3 days (not including arrival date, Sunday and wedding date) prior to getting married for a non-legal ceremony. My concern is we were planning to arrive on Sat April 10, and get married on Wed. April 14. Gabriela said it was ok, does anyone know if this will be a problem?

Thanks so much!! Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

First of all, thank you all so much for all your helpful information in re Barcelo!!! This was thrown into the mix as one of my options, and seeing as how I have a march 2010 date, I need to get a move on!!!

Could someone please email or PM me the price list? For some reason I can't view it.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
