Yes - However, only if your group is adventurous. The ziplining is high above the jungles - we had a 9-yr old part of our group and he had a blast!
Another great trip was Xel-ha - it's an eco-park...siteseeing, tubing, snorkeling, cliff jumping, etc!

Both are GREAT!

I have a picture of my cake. I'll upload it when I get home. It was like a sheet cake with another rectangle on top. Nothing fancy at all. Mine was vanilla with strawberries. it tasted good. I didn't care much at all about the cake and just wanted whatever was in the package.

There are pictures of the cakes in all the documents uploaded in this thread.

What is your question about the photos?

Ooh thanks Morgan I would love to see your cake, I'm just really interested in seeing what it will be like as I don't tend to like surprises - I'm a bit boring like that ;-)

My question about photos? I am looking for a wedding photographer if that what you mean or I was asking about seeing a photo of the wedding cake the Hotel does?

Thanks

Vicky

are you asking about the hotel photographer? Or looking for another wedding photographer? I don't suggest the hotel photographer at all.

I ended up flying someone in for my wedding. It was a great way to get a lot of coverage of the weekend. We had a blast with pictures.

I don't recommend my photographer though. She is known as <photographer named removed> around here.

Have you checked out the BDW photographers? There are some great ones.

Or are you looking for someone local?

The cake looks yummy and you both look lovely - beautiful dress.

Oh what a shame the name of the photographer has been removed. I have received an excellent quote from Bluelenscaribe Photography and their pictures look beautiful but no-one including the Hotel seems to have heard of them which worries me! I am getting quotes in at the moment and am awaiting one from Cecilia Dumas. I had one from Mellisa Green and would LOVE her to shoot our wedding but she is just out of our budget sadly. It;s quite difficult chossing when you are so far away.

oh no, it's not a shame. I would not recommend this photographer to anyone. the pictures were great but she was too difficult to deal with.

I wrote something about blue lens caribe on another thread where you posted their site. i would be cautious dealling with them because you don't know who you will get. They have a whole team of people. You don't know whos work you are seeing on the site. the person they send to your wedding could be bad.

Flying someone in was way out of my budget. I finally increased the budget & I'm so happy I did. Pictures were just too important to me. Flying someone in was also a great way to get a whole lot of coverage. We got pictures of our guests on a trip to coba. then we did a trash the dress in a cenote. we had pictures from the whole day at the wedding, and a trash the dress with my friends the next day. it was a blast. Before increasing my budget, I was going to have 3 hours of photography. I know I wouldn't have been happy after the wedding. Going cheap on photography was the only regret I was having. I did everything else cheaply (no reception, $200 dress, DIY everything, non-upgraded hotel room, etc.) Once I increased my photography budget I had a huge sense of relief. So i could tell it had really been bugging me.

But, it varies by person. Photography is something I really love so for me it was worth upping the budget. I had gone under budget on so many things, too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
