For our photos we're going with CANCUN STUDIOS. I didn't want to spend a whole lot on the pictures and Cancun Studios has packages that were within my budget. The only bummer is I haven't been able to find too many reviews on them. I did find a couple though and there wasn't really any negative comments so I figured that was a good thing.
I have the date and time booked. As well as the location of our ceremony. Wednesday the DJ will be booked.Rehearsal dinner is booked.Taking all our guests and bridal party to the mexican fiesta after rehearsal. The dinner location and menu have been chosen. The cake was ordered 3 weeks ago.Need to choose location of reception.Dont have a photographer yet. They are all so pricey.I`ll look into ur photographer if u dont mind.Any questions u have, I`ll be glad to help. Also we could share ideas if u`d like...

I would surely like. I can't believe how much you have done. Now I'm nervous that I'm so far behind. I have a couple of questions for you already.

1. Mexican Fiesta night, is that the one that is on Thursday? We're getting married on Thursday and just found out we're going to be too small of a group to have a private so I thought that I would pay for everyone to go there. Is that tacky? Lame? Or a good idea?

2. How many people are you going to have including you and your FI? I'm trying to decide if I should do a rehearsal dinner or pay for everyone to go on an excursion to Xel Ha (Which is my favorite place to go).

As for the photographer, I agree, too expensive. To me the pictures are important but I want to make sure my guests are happy too. That being said I can't afford to pay thousands for my pictures. I can send you the pricing list of their packages if you'd like. Just PM me with your e-mail address.

Thanks for the help!

The photographer I'm selecting is $300 for the sitting fee and $500 for the album. Is this resonable?

How much is everyone paying for the total BD shoot?

This may sound crazy but I'm getting mine done for free. Someone on here suggested looking for a photographer that is looking to build their boudoir portfolio because they're likely to give you a deal. I did and I found one that is going to do it for FREE!! I did research them before booking and I like what I have seen and I'm comfortable with my decision.

It doesn't include makeup or hair or a book but it does include all the photographs edited on CD with no copyrights.

Today is the big day so I will let all you ladies know how it goes (all the details) when it's all said and done.

That's what we did with our engagement pictures and I couldn't have been happier! It's so great to get stuff for free when you're paying so much for everything else!!!

I'm doing my boudior for $350. It's 1 hour of shooting, hair & make-up, and $100 credit toward a product of my choice. I'm doing a marathon session so I think that's a little cheaper than just hiring the photographer full out.

Ugh. I have so much to do still:

Done-

Dress/groom attire

Wedding Bands

Location/Flights

All invited guests are booked

BD shoot is done-book should be here in a few weeks

Wedding jewelry selected

Photographer booked/deposit paid

To do-

groom shoes

barefoot sandals

announcements

OOT bags (DIY)-this will take a while

4 week travel package for guests (DIY)0-this also will take a while

pick colors

buy tulle for arch in colors and other arch decorations

buy arch or build my own (in progress)

DIY chair decorations of some sort

assemble pictures of family members that will be "watching from above" for details shots with the photographer

put together short list of pictures I want to make sure photographer takes

figure out what to do with my hair

figure out what to do with my make up

write vows

pick music

put together guest book or scrapbook for guests to contribute to

My budget so far:

Hotel/Flights $5200

Rings $3000 (?)

Attire $1200 +

Photographer $1800

Resort Fees $700

BD Photos $900 (under budget :-)

Misc decor $1500+

Total: $14300

I'm guessing this will be close estimating the mics stuff at $1500. I'm actually hoping that will be a really high estimate since the DIY projects should be really inexpensive but I'm shooting higher just in case. Considering this includes the E-Ring, Wedding AND honeymoon I think I'm doing really good :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
