Petals - I saw that you did the "U" shaped reception.... That was all one table, right? So did you have table numbers for each person? Or place cards
It was actually 3 tables. And we made place cards for each person but actually forgot them at home!

The food is included in your package price (+ anyone over the count of cool.gif. The only time you would have to pay additional is if you choose to upgrade to the lobster. We did not upgrade, and were not dissapointed in our entrees or service.

Place cards:
I found it easier to just have the place cards set up on the table then to have people have to find there seats.

God reference:
We had the same minister, VIncent Mackenzie. We also had a civil ceremony and did not ask to not have god mentioned. Civil ceremony just means its a legal ceremony, it is still performed by a Minister! He is a minister after all, so there will be references to god unless you ask for there not to be. The mentions were minimal. We are not religions, but not one complaint about the service.

Jascynthia and her assistant, Suzan:

Sorry, but I feel the need to defend them. I met with both, first Suzan and then Jascynthia. Both were extremely helpful and very nice. To say otherwise is ridiculous.

Ipod during the reception:

The way to go. We set up playlist before we left for things like first dances, cake cutting, dinner music and then just let them play. Worked perfect. Steel drum band is definitely the way to go during the ceremony!

Thanks girls for all the info!! Everyone here is awesome. So I've got dates confirmed for GPJ and ROR and am trying to decide b/w the 2. They were very quick in getting back to me that i could have a wedding there, but my trouble is I'm having a hard time getting any info pack on if I can have certain wedding locations and reception sites. Like I would like to have a private recp at either place but no word back...ugh. Any tricks of the trade to get them to respond?

Hey, you can for sure have a private reception at the GP, the trick is the keep emailing and maybe suggest your are deciding between them and another venue and then seeing they want the business it may trigger them to respond!! Hope that helps!

There is a lot of beach at this resort. Parts are very rocky and beautiful, but the rest is great for swimming. Sunset cove beach is the biggest and has all the water sports and doesn't have any rocky areas. We dragged along water shoes based on reviews, but all they did was take up space in our luggage.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
