January 2010 brides!!

OH MAN! I just found this thread Lisa! Just a couple of nights ago I was freaking out and had a panic attack! I could have swore I had a year to plan, and we're at the half-way mark, and I feel like I have so much to do!! I feel so stressed that my eczema is breaking out! But, this is what we have so far:

Things done:

-ordered bridal gown (ordered at trunk show in April)

-purchased TTD gown

-deposit placed for resort

-deposit placed for photographer

-booked travel/honeymoon

-bridal misc purchased=shoes, flip flops, hair flower, spanx

-purchased FI's suit

-misc OOT bag items=playing cards, personal fans, keycard/tip holder, beach towels

-finished some of DIY projects=program fans, shell bout's for groomsmen, "bling" strands for huppah decor

-purchased pail for flowergirls

-purchased shells for ring bearer

-purchased flip flops for unprepared guest for ceremony/reception

-boarding pass Save-the-Date's sent

-purchased MOH/BM gift totes

-emailed groomsmen to get fitted for linen suits

-engagement session scheduled for next week thursday (EEK! I'm so nervous about this!)

Things to do:

-LOSE 10 POUNDS

-Passport invitations

-DIY floral/floating strands for huppah decor

-purchase our wedding bands

-decide on flowers and table centerpieces

-purchase bridal jewelry=earrings, bracelet

-book welcome/rehearsal dinner

-purchase gifts for MOH/BM/GM

-choose songs and make playlists

My list can go on and on... this is just the tip of the ice berg of things I need to do! I thought I had everything under control!!

I did give my MOH and BM their choice to choose anything they want to wear, I gave them the color swatch, and let them loose. I trust my girls to choose their own styles. But I am a little worried that they have not started to look for their dresses, aqua and coral is a spring/summer color, and with our wedding in january, if they procrastinate, they won't find anything during the winter. GRRRRRR

But, I won't stress myself about that.. I have other things to stress about!

Yeah....I'm behind. Things are not looking so hot at this point in time for me, and to top it all off I got into it with my MIL today.....the woman is making me CRAZY. She seems to think that Andrew and I need to pay for her entire trip for our wedding when she booked a master suite at the hotel...the same room category as the future hubby and I. Any advice?

I would politely tell her that you are happy to pay for her trip (even if you are not, I don't know the situation) but that she will have to accept a room in the normal category. You could offer to keep her in that room category if she wishes but that she will need to pay the difference between a regular room and a master suite. I don't think you are asking for much here, it's very inconsiderate for someone to book themselves in anything other that a basic room if someone else if paying for them. The nerve of some people :/

Hi everyone! I'm a January 2010 bride too! Well, I hope I am anyway. We still haven't confirmed the date yet. My fiance proposed last month and we are hoping for a VERY simple wedding. Turns out everything is much more complicated than I thought. I don't know the first thing about wedding planning. Eek!

But I have found my dress. So that's something. cheesy.gif

I remember when i first checked this site out and started planning our wedding and AHR it was very overwhelming ! i am still trying to figure out details. I thought a destination wedding would be an easy way out of the traditional wedding planning but since we decided on a reception at home it's basically like planning 2 weddings...LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
