Attached are my STD's, it was my fiance's idea and EVERYONE loved them. (make sure to zoom at 100% or else our faces will be really big) =)

We had a blast doing the pictures too =)

Mandee, I am doing bags per room, not per person. (too expensive) Still in the works but we are doing:

Rafts

Advil

Lip Balm

T-shirts that say (Team Finley or Team Chierchie)

Map of the Resort

And a homemade English-Spanish useful phrases booklet

For the chapel, we will have fans with the program on it =)

And are thinking about starfish wine stoppers for the favor.

I am doing bags per room except all of my bridesmaids are getting one. I have a website for lip balm that you can put your wedding label on if you want it. I have put flip flops that I bought for a dollar at Michaels, beach towels ($2.50 Target), spanish english book (1.00 Target), money holders for the beach, water guns, bubbles, water bottles, maps of the resort, and itinerary books. I check the dollar bins at target and they have great stuff in them. I am way under budget thanks to Target.

Sorry if this showed up twice but I posted it and seems to have disappeared.

I am also putting one bag per room except for my bridesmaids. I haven't gotten so lucky with my bags. I have spent less then $10.00 a bag and am doing well. I got bags that you can put picture in the front of. When Greg and I were in Mexico a two weeks we took pictures and are putting them in the front of the bag. I am filling it with:

Flip flops ($1.00 Michaels)

Beach Towels ($2.50 Target)

Spanish English dictionariest (1.00 Target)

mugs

Itinerary books

Beach Money holders

Maracas

Water guns

Bubbles

Also, I have a link for chapstick that will put your wedding label on it if you would like. I really want to see your save the dates but have not earned enought points. Do you know how many points I need to be able to do this?

Hello! I'm glad somebody started this, I was getting a little lost trying to read the other thread. I just got back from staying at the Iberostar Grand for 4 nights. We went to check it out for next year. We are struggling with trying to figure out how to have the wedding at the Grand and have kids attend. Anybody done this before?

If anybody wants pics/info on the grand let me know. I also took a few pictures at lindo and maya.

Andim-

I have read in several places that the Grand will not allow kids attend the wedding and are pretty strict on this. I'm not sure if it was here or on another Iberostar forum~ iberostar-board.com where you can find information as well. I also remember reading that they will assist in finding babysitting services. Sorry, I don't remember where since I have been reading SO many forums! Good Luck.

We really liked the grand. I've been to 4 other hotels in the Cancun area and this one was by far the nicest. Everybody there went out of their way to get whatever we wanted or needed. They even come out to the beach and will bring you whatever you want. My biggest selling point was the beach. I had heard that after the hurrance many of the beaches had rocks and sand bags but the beach at the grand/lindo is great. There are some rocks right in front of the Grand but just a little down by the Lindo is a nice wide beach where you can swim. One reason we liked the Grand more than the Lindo, Maya etc was because it was less crowed and where they have the cermony has way less people. We saw 4 weddings set up at the other hotels and they had people laying out about 5 feet from where the wedding was taking place. If you want to read more reviews or see other pictures tripadvisor.com is a great place to see other people's pictures.

We met with Gemma while we were there and she gave us some pricing information and showed us some pictures. We are trying to work with her to see if half our group can stay at the lindo and half at the Grand with the wedding being at the grand. She said that kids can attend the wedding but if we want to have a reception at the Grand we have to rent out La Brisa for 1500$. Since we only have ONE cousin that is a kid coming we just can't justify renting the entire place. So I'm waiting to hear back about having the reception at the Lindo. Here are a few pics I took of where we want to have the ceremony if we end up doing it there.

This leads out to the 2nd picture so you could pull the wedding under if it was raining and still have a great view

I actually went on Ebay the first time I bought them (which was about 7).

But now we have to buy bulk and I am still shopping around...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
