Beaches Negril Brides - Post here!!

Recommended Posts

Hey Girls!! I need some ideas!! Our wedding is at 1pm and we are only doing the 1 hour reception. So, we'll have the whole day, after pictures, to hang out and celebrate. What can we do!? We have thought about going to Rick's Cafe, but don't really know if we want a full on bar scene. We don't want to spend a fortune, either. Any suggestions?

Personally I like Rick's and I think we may have our rehearsal dinner there. Everytime I have been there it didn't turn into more of the bar scene until later in the night. Yes, it does get crowded around dinner because everyone wants to see the sun set, but the rowdiness didn't really start until a little later on. But it's all a matter of personal preference.

What are you looking to do after the reception? Do you want to just move to another restauarant type atmosphere? Kuyaba on the Beach has good food from what I remember, or you can look at the restaurant at the Rock House. If you want something a little more active, look into going to YS Falls - it's really beautiful.

Or after the reception, you could let everyone have a little break to go swimming, take a nap (you and your new husband can have some alone time!) or whatever they want to do, and then maybe meet up later on in the evening to have dinner and then dancing?

Here is the information from the resort on the private cruise they offer. It would be more private than going to Rick's, but is kinda pricey. It would be something different to do after the ceremony. We looked into doing it instead of having a rehearsal dinner.

There is also a beach bbq/party one night a week at the resort. You could look into what night it is held and maybe it would be the same as your wedding. Then you wouldn't have to pay extra for your guests to have a great beach party.

Your travel agent should be able to assist you with the requirement!
Thank you Jennifer!! And if you had anything to do with getting them to bend the rules a little bit - an even bigger thank you!!! This seriously could have been a deal breaker for me if wouldn't be able to use the photographer of my choice and I may have ended up moving to a different resort.

Check out the post above by TA Jennifer. It sounds like Beaches will now allow you to bring in an outside photographer if they are staying at the resort for a minimum number of nights. I haven't been able to touch base with our WC just yet to get details but once I do, I'll provide more details for y'all :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
