Wedding Day Schedule

I was just wondering when most people are getting married? I mean what is your wedding day timeline.

Maye said 6:30pm to start the ceremony because of sunset at just about 8:00pm (may 200. My FI thinks we should start earlier but I'm not sure how early. We were thinking maybe 6:00pm? Apparently we have to shut music off at 10:00pm so we want to make sure we have enough time in the night...

I just wanted to get ideas from the rest of you.

I remember allot of the '06 brides suggesting having your ceremony 1 to 1.5 hrs before sunset to get all your pictures in..depending on the size of your bridal party. I'm hoping the photographers chime in if that's incorrect.

Sun sets at 5:45 on our wedding day. I'm good even if we start a little late.

4:00-4:20: Ceremony and well wishes (may end sooner, but would like for Trio to play until DJ takes over)

4:30-5:30 Photos with family/wedding party + group photo (all guests)

immediately to follow well wishes- romantic sunset photos for couple

4:45-5:45: Cocktail Hour (Oceana Terrace)- Guests are invited to follow Trio from beach to Oceana Terrace- upbeat music by Trio. How to segway between Trio and DJ... announce the new Mr. & Mrs. as we join party.

Well, didn't Tammy (host) get married on May 27th?? I think she said her wedding was at 6pm?? I dunno, I could be wrong. You want to leave enough time for your ceremony and pictures though

OKay that makes sense...1 1/2 hrs before sunset...I'm thinking 6:00 is good! Thanks guys...

FYI Angela...did you check the sunset schedule?? I was just looking at that thread right before I looked at this and because day light savings time started earlier (march) and ends later (nov) I think your sunset might be an hour later...at 6:45...check this link I found on the other threads.

i got married may 27th and imy ceremony was at 6:00pm. it was a really short ceremony and we had a bunch of time to take pics before sunset...actually we didnt use all the time we had because i wanted to get back to our guests (much to juan's disappointment-i rushed him)...

so i guess it depends on what type of ceremony you are having (long or short) and if you will need alot of time to take family pics etc.

but i think anywhere between 6-6:30 will be fine.

I am a wedding photographer here in Cabo so I can help. Through a photographers eye the light in Cabo is just incredible. The colors and contrasts it umbues are unlike anywhere else in the world. The 'sweet window' for lighting occurs 2.0 before absolute sunset. During those two hours the light changes constantly. The hour before absolute sunset (below the horizon) is the 'warm' light. I am speaking about how the light reflects off people and surroundings. Even after the sun has dropped below the horizon there is yet another chapter in the sunset light. The sky has a deep blue glow and if the camera is set right these too can be excellent photographs. One caution for the sun-has-set photos... it is difficult to light group photos, so have those done before the sun sets. Additionally the photographer may or may not need to use a flash to add some depth and definition.

What about clouds? High overcast or hazy days (rare) diffuse the light and can make for more evenly lit photographs. Better formed clouds, (usually found in the afternoon of months July through September) can make for spectacular colors.

One last thing too consider is location. There are certain locations where the setting sun will be obscured by a building or landscape (the mountians) so if the sun is due to set @ 7:30 it may in fact be blocked out @ 7:00 p.m.. Your photographer should know the location and be able to help you. Hope this helps.
