Sandra!!!

Thank you so much for the info and links. I have to say that I don't really care for the cantelope/hurricane centerpieces either. Your centerpieces are going to be awesome!... Kohls is a great place to find anything you could possibly need. My fiance is pretty set about having floating candles with sand and shells as centerpieces, I don't think he understands that we have to lug all of this down there ourselves or pay extra for it at the resort :) He's trying to be a DIY groom!!! He did do a great job with our save the date magnets, so he gets props for that!!

Hope you had a great weekend, thanks again for the info!

lol, first calm down. it isn't a deal breaker! honestly in most resorts there will be a dress code for restaurants. all you need to pack for your FI is a couple pairs of pants and a pair of shoes. you can wear a dress, capris, bermuda shorts, pretty much anything goes except flip flops on your feet...the buffets don't have a dress code because they're much more casual. but would you want to only eat buffet food all week? i know i wouldn't! it's nice to make a reservation, sit and enjoy a nice meal. as far as your guests are concerned...they should receive a dress code at some point...either through your website if you have one, your invitations, your travel agent, etc...anyone who has traveled to a resort in the past will understand. good luck and don't let something as simple as this get you confused and upset!

It is there that you will see a bunch of different pictures of the centerpieces and table arrangements both inside the banquet hall and outside. I believe is the 2nd to last page. I'm horrible at html coding. I need to look it up and then I'll post all the pics! But it's late and I'm pooped out!

Ha! I know, I just want this to be a nice vacation for my guests and I think it is a little inconvenient that men have to wear pants and closed toe shoes. I know when we went to Cabo last month we wore flip flops EVERYWHERE (even the nice restaurant at the resort) and it was nice and relaxed. I expect my fiance and his grooms men to wear flip flops in our ceremony. Oh well. Also, I read that you can only eat out at the restaurants twice. Is that true?

I thought if you stayed at the Palace you have unlimited ala cartes, at least I hope so. Does anyone know who has stayed there? I think if you stay at the tropical/colonial or beach/caribe you only get a certain number depending on how many days you stay.

I think for the Beach/Caribe for a 7 night stay it is only 2 al a cartes and you can only reserve at the restaurants over on that section.

For a 7 night stay at the Tropical/Colonial the number of al a cartes is 4. For under 7 nights it is 2. And again you can only reserve at the restaurants on that section of the resort and the ones at the Beach/Caribe (not Palace restaurants).

When I stayed at the Palace (October 200cool.gif we had unlimited al a cartes. We were there 7 nights. We could chose to make reservations at any restaurant that was open (the Beach/Caribe side was closed at the time). I think the number changes according to occupancy and your tour operator. I think it's between 4 to unlimited for a 7 night stay.

Oh boy, I can't remember which one is which now... I think we are doing the ocean scents one... we want to be able to have dinner outside or in one of the open air grills. Our wedding will probably be on the small side ( I think) but it varies on any given day :) I really didn't think I would stress this much about planning a destination wedding, but there is so much to do. The good thing is, all the beach stuff will be on sale soon for our OOT bags and centerpieces!! wooohooo smile29.gif

Hi ladies,

My name is Leslie and I am brand new to this thread. I hope to get a couple of hours in the next few days to comb through the thread, but in the meantime, I was wondering if someone with the wedding package information could send it to me. I have been able to find 2009 pricing for 4 of the Barcelos in the Mayan, but nothing for the Palace, and nothing for 2010. Any info you could supply me with would be hugely helpful. My email is

woolly007@hotmail.com

Thanks and happy planning!

Hey Leslie, I'm in the same boat. I was unable to find anything online that was Palace specific, most Barcelo Beach packages. So if anyone else has this information could you email it to me as well? Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
