Post pics of your Wedding Cake!

Recommended Posts

We are sticking to the basic cake that is provided by our resort RPTB in Jamaica. I emailed our WC and she confirmed that I could bring my cake topper and just decorate it with fresh flowers, etc... Michael's craft store or AC More has a decorating aisle just full of things you could use to "dress up" your cake. I told her that I don't want our names on it, as I have seen some resorts do. I want it to resemble a traditional cake, even though it will be just 1 tier because of the amount of poeple comming to Jamaica (7).

I just want something special that we can celebrate and do our cake cutting with.

And here is the actual cake ......Click the image to open in full size.

The ONLY regret I have is paying for this cake, I actually laughed at it when they brought it out for us. It is so ugly. It tasted good but come on now, they don't even look alike. And, they used fake orchids on it!!
I am so sorry girlie

And here is an aerial view of our cupcake tree (I've just received a few teaser shots from the AHR):

Can't wait to get the full-on shot to really show our tree. It came out so well!

These are fantastic! This is what I want to do for my AHR. Was it a DIY project or professionally done?

Thanks, Cassondra! The tiers were DIY (my cousin painted each tier and put ribbon on the outer lip), the cupcakes were a bakery. We had the florist fill the tiers with flowers in between the cupcakes.

You can purchase the cupcake tree here Cupcaketree cupcake stand, wedding cupcake stand, green wedding, recyclable

Here is another photo to see how it was set up in the restaurant at our AHR

Definitely post a pic if you decide to do it as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
