happy with my wedding dress????

Recommended Posts

I have been seeing a lot of gorgeous dresses on the forum lately which made me want to check out more dresses online. I have already purchased my wedding dress and it is safely tucked in my closet right now. I keep finding wedding dresses that I absolutely love and start to think that mine isn't good enough. There are a couple Maggie Sottero gowns that I am in love with. I tell myself not to even go there since I already have a dress. So I look at the pictures of me in my wedding dress and I even have to put my dress on to feel good about it. I know my dress is gorgeous, I look amazing in it, and I love it, but I keep thinking well what if I really don't like it? Yet I do like it. I'm so confused. haha I don't know how to keep myself in the mindset that my wedding dress is perfect. When I first put my dress on I was like this is the one. But, it is so hard when I keep seeing all these dresses and I want to buy them. So frustrating!!! I don't want to be a two dress bride (except for having a ttd dress). I want my wedding to be perfect and my wedding dress to be perfect as well.

I think this forum will do that to you - you see how beautiful everyone else's dresses are and you start to wonder about your choice - I've been doing the same thing! I started sending my maid of honor links to new dresses and she kept saying you're crazy, your dress looks amazing on you!

I'm sure we'd all love to have a million dresses if we could!

I've seen your dress in another thread and it's beautiful! Just keep everything in perspective and stop second guessing yourself! You will be glowing on your day in whichever dress you chose because you're marrying the love of your life! :)

I bought my dress after only trying on 5 and spending 45min shopping. I totally did the doubt thing too after seeing other girls' beautiful dresses, and honestly in the end I was so happy to have picked mine the way I did.

With that said....lets see it cheesy.gif

I keep doing the same thing to my mother and my bridesmaids. I send them links all the time now of dresses that I love. They think I'm insane because they think my dress is perfect as do I.

I picked out my dress on my first day dress shopping. I tried on like 12 dresses or so. I really liked 3 of them and this one just felt like the one and thought it was perfect.

But these dresses are so gorgeous! I want them all! =)

The color looks white but it is actually ivory.

Another thing that makes me second guess myself, is I really like dresses with low backs and my dress doesn't really have a low back. I also like corset backs as well.

I think it's pretty normal to second guess your dress for awhile. I only went to one bridal shop, tried on about 10 dresses, and ended up buying my dress. I love my dress, everyone else I show loves my dress, but for a long time I still couldn't help second guessing myself and thinking maybe there's a dress out there that would be even more perfect (especially after seeing all the dresses on this forum!). My dress is at my parents house and I drive there (over an hour away) every few weeks to try on just to reassure myself that I really do love it.

It's so hard because there are SOOO many gorgeous dresses out there, but you only get to pick one to wear on the biggest day of your life. Of course if you keep looking you will find tons of dresses that would look great on you, but the one you have now looks amazing and when your wedding day comes, you KNOW you are going to be a beautiful bride.

Amber, I think your dress is beautiful and you look fantastic in it. The ones you posted from Maggie all have very similar lines to the one you have...ask yourself if you really want to buy a 2nd dress that looks so similar?

I think we all get dress envy...especially when we start planning so far in advance and see so many from being on BDW!

I agree with everyone else ... this forum especially with all the fabulous dresses the gals have can make you have major dress envy!! I know it happens to me a few times a week! BUT, your dress is perfect on you; I say keep it. If you are really that unsure of it though; we do have a lot of 2 plus dress brides on here...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
