Puerto Rico Brides!

Hi ladies! Just got engaged and looking for a location. Puerto Rico sounds like a great place, but anyone know of a non-denominational/protestant church? My FH is Catholic but I am not. We are planning on a non-denominational ceremony; and I would love it to be inside a church...any ideas?

Thanks for the information, ladies. I've recently had to move my location to Puerto Rico and know next to nothing about the area. I have sent out for information from about 5 or 6 places mentioned in Destination Wedding and Honeymoons Magazine, so if/when I receive that, I will upload!

I didn't see it but I heard screams and then everyone told me afterwards what happened. lol Also apparently someone put ink on my dress by mistake that was quickly removed without me knowing. We had a bomba/plena band which was a lot of fun. My flu was gone by the wedding date but I had a slight cough throughout the ceremony. Everytime I coughed my dress fell a little at the top. lol. I kept adjusting myself in front of the priest. :) I will post pics as soon as I get them!
Evie - Congrats! I'm glad everything went well and that you were feeling better! I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks so haven't been on the forum for awhile...back to the wedding planning!

Latinhunny - the pictures are wonderful! I would definitely be interested in seeing your pictures at El Morro - I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks and now I'm back in full wedding planning mode! I need to make a list of some of the places I would like to have pictures done and it looks like you picked some great spots!

Annie, I did.

I thought it was beautiful but the owner was a bit hard to communicate with.

In the end, it was more cost effective for us to use El Convento.

There is another bride here, I think her user is Jamieson - something, who was married there.

Trying looking for her posts. I believe she did get married there but had a hard time with the owner.

If anyone has information about it, I would be very grateful!
The Gallery Inn is beautiful but not worth the headache. I had a horrible time with the owner, almost had to change locations less than a month before my wedding due to changes she made to our contract, still ended up paying more than we were supposed to and then was charged extra for items that were supposed to be included. When questioned, our emails and calls were ignored. She went through three wedding planners including her niece. During the wedding the owner made many comments about how much more she usually charges and how grateful I should be. Mind you, I paid about $130/plate even for children and still did not have the alcohol that I requested or the dessert. I did not want wedding cake and was supposed to have coconut ice cream but she susbstituted vanilla with baked brown sugar and cinnamon. I posted about the issues as they happened so if you search you can read about them. Feel free to PM me also and I can provide more details...or pics if you are a sucker for punishment.

Looks like you did not get an answer here. There are no true all inclusives in PR. Paradisus used to be AI but changed ownership. Even without the AI option, PR can be cheap and great for a location.,

Thanks, jamisoncollette.

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with the Gallery Inn. It's hard enough as it is to figure this stuff out from afar without the hassle of complicated communication with vendors.

It's a lovely place, but your experience with them is enough to turn me off. I appreciate the offer, though, thank you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
