Ohh wow, so I should be getting the contract through email & mailing it in.. i haven't received it yet, but i want to reserve it asap so we can go ahead and book our flights & stuff. Plus it's going to be in February now instead of July so we gotta step our planning game up since we have less time.. i think i might contact them today about it (before the weekend cuz they'll probably be busy w/ weddings) also i would like to be able to meet their May 31st deadline for their deals :P

thanks for your replies, i decided to call them to follow up about it, and i kept getting the receptionists and one of them said she'd call me back after checking in the back for my files. so about 5 mins later joann called me back apologizing for the misunderstanding because she was just waiting for me to send my info back since she didnt get it... so i just re-sent it and we've been communicating back & forth thru email. im so glad i called bc i was gonna wait til next week, thinking it would be coming in the mail. yay! :) now i can get to finalizing the wedding plans & ppl can start booking. just waiting on my TA with the travel details. last weekend the flight + hotel prices on orbitz were 1057 for th week we're staying... but when i chekced yesterday they went up to 1111 :S i hope they dont go up again for a while, or that my TA can still get us a good deal. if it goes up to about 1500 that would suck because the only reason why we changed our date from july 1st to feb. 14th was because we figured it wuold be more affordable for our guests to come. but if its the same then i'd rather do it in july! im just tired of changing the date on everyone, esp. my travel agent as this would be the 3rd date change :P anyways im rambling lol as u can see i'm such a noob at this wedding stuff. with that said, i really really appreciate everyone's helpful replies cheesy.gif u guys rock!

All I have to say is that you will not regret having your ceremony at the OCC, it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL, it's nice and bright, the benches are nicely decorated the outside waterfall is stunning!!! I used the organist they had for $60 and it was regular wedding music but it was nice to hear real music rather than from a cd. I did not book the mInister from Best Bridal Hawaii, which I now regret becasue I booked Alice Inoue who is supposedly one of the best Ministers in Oahu, but she did not show up on time, we only had the chapel for 90 mins from 1-2:30, and our ceremony was to start at 1:30, allowing plently of time to go back in the chapel after the ceremony to take posed family pics, but Alice didn't show up until 2:10 and rushed through our ceremony then we had to be out of the chapel by 2:30 or else it was a $4500 fee.

Flowers - I used the florist at the Hilton Mamo Village flowers, they were quite expensive and I wasn't totally in love with the flowers but they were nice. I had the a la carte package at the OCC which included the standard photo package

Photographer - I also booked our own photographers, Dulce Photographer, Mike Pham and Johanny, they were AWESOME! they came around 12 and took pictures of us getting ready, then helped bring my dress to the bridal room at the chapel to take pics, they even drove two cars to the Hilton so that they can take us off site. I haven't seen the pictures yet but I give them 2 thumbs up for service. If you are looking for photographers, I highly recommend them and you can let them know I referred you.

Makeup - I booked Bev (makeupbybv) she was ok, did the makeup really quickly, overall i was happy with the results.

Dinner reception at the Rainbow Patio @ Hilton- the food was superb!

Hope this helps! Happy planning everyone...by the way the Hilton Hawaiian Village is beautiful, I would definately stay there again!!

I would LOVE to see pics from your reception @ the rainbow patio! that is the only location HHV was able to offer us according to our group size, and from the pictures she sent us i wasn't too thrilled about it. but the fact that we're all staying there makes it so convenient! i would love to see how the set it up for a wedding!

I have a bunch of pictures of the Ocean Crystal chapel if anyone would like me to email them to them. We visited about 2 weeks ago and did a walk through, etc. It is absolutely stunning. I took pictures in and around it, basically everywhere, downstairs parlor, brides dressing room, etc. My daughter is getting married there in June 2011, if anyone at that place will actually return a phone call or email. So far I have not been pleased with their customer service.

Ha! I called them again and got the answering machine, but I left a long message about how no one calls me back, etc. and they called today! They didn't even have the date on the calendar yet for June 2011, but they added it and let me go ahead and book it now anyway! I'm so relieved that we know we have the date we wanted. Vivrant thing....did you get the link to the kodak gallery to see all the pictures? If not I can upload a few at a time to you. Let me know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
