Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Arrghh, stupid me, ignore my message above. I went back and re-read the recent posts and the bride who had already booked her restaurant is getting married in less than 3 months, not 2010! Sorry, I'm super tired these days, the end of the school year is upon me and my students have been draining all possible energy out of me!!

Thanks for the info jkcz0702. The general impression i get from reading posts to date is that it mostly all works out one way or another. The question is, how not to stress in that time leading up to it, non?

I think one way to possibly get around the limited light for post ceremony photos is to consider a trash the dress shoot the day after, that way you get the best of both worlds - light for the ceremony/sunset pics, then candid light pics later.

So for half of these pictures at least one of us thought we were flying out the next day!

I thought I'd post them because inspite of all the things that can go wrong a wedding at GBP is amazingly stress free and so worth it! Claudia, the photographer did a great job and Liam, the groom, did a great job of pretending!

Maggie, your wedding was beautiful! Liam did a great job of pretending and you look gorgeous!! The children you had at the wedding were adorable too. How was Frutos del Mar for the reception dinner?

We did the Special Cocktails package because that included what our guests were pretty much drinking. We were able to tip and get some other drinks for those that wanted something else. At the Dolce Vita we did the melon proc. I think minestrone soup and then grouper and chicken for the main dish. Our wedding cake we chose the 3 milk everything was really good. I have never been to Mexico in August we may go this August I hear it is really hot but they have the pool and beach so on the days besides the wedding you will be cool!!!
Thanks for the info Jen! From the sounds of it, our wedding is going to be following along the lines of yours!! Evening ceremony, dinner at the Dolce Vita, poolside reception after. Good idea about the tipping to get other drinks and just sticking with the special cocktails package. :)

Does anyone know if we can get in touch with the resort DJ now? I don't know which one we booked, all I know is we have him or her from 8:00-10:30.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
