Thanks, in advance, for your reply!

Hey Jennifer!

thank you so much for your response! Unfortunately, I have booked both the wedding AND the travel accomodations sans a TA...not because I did not want to use one...but just because when starting to plan this event, I did not know any better...

Do you think it would be worthwhile to contact the WC from Miami?

I am not happy at ALL with the customer service - from her - that I have been receiving. I emailed her about the upgrade catalog days ago...and I have yet to hear back with a response (or a PDF download) and in regards to the garment bag...I have ironically just started the search for one as I do not want my dress and my Fiance's attire to be together for the trip there.

What would you suggest? Thanks - in advance - for your help!

Okay this is random but I am sure most of you have looked at the decoration options in the packet that Sandals provides......I LOVE the lumminary set-up for the reception on the beach- it looks soooo pretty! I want to see more pictures of this! Has anyone seen any? I am paying for the $75 reception but curious how this looks if I didn't add in the luminary set-up. Does anyone know? I am really hoping to hav eit as close to the beach as possible!

JamaicaBride09- Hi there! I am just curious what are you doing in regard to decorations...from what I gather you are paying for the $75 as well....

I plan on getting Option 2 & 4 from the Candlelight decor for each table. We are bringing our own chair sashes and table runners and then I would like to sprinkle some pink sea glass on each table. Our colors are sage and choclate broen. I ordered satin choclate brown table runners and sage chair sashes.

What decor are you considering?

Jamaicabride09- are you having the candle option 2 & 4 in addition to the centerpiece that they already provide with the $75 reception or are you replacing it? Also are you using the chair sashes at wedding ceremony site and reception?

I looove candles so I def. want candles! I am a little stuck on colors. My Save The Dates were brown with that Aqua Tiffany color which I love but I am having trouble figuring out to incorporate it with our decorations. You planning your reception indoors? Is the location choose before we go or when we get there?

What are you doing for your ceremony decor?

Sorry so many questions! You seem to know what your doing though! Thanks for your guidance!

I am going to forego the included centerpieces and go with the upgraded candle options. I love candles too and love that soft look that they provide. Yes, we requested an indoor location for the reception. Unfortunately, we have to wait until we meet with the on site coordinator to find out the exact location for the ceremony and reception. That's the one part that I don't like about Sandals. It makes preplanning even harder.

For ceremony decor I plan on ordering the tropical arrangements on the white pedestals. We are also doing raffia fans for all the guests; I really wanted chair covers for the ceremony and reception. However, itâ€s way too expensive to rent them for both. Iâ€m just going to get them for the reception.

I love brown and tiffany blue. Itâ€s very pretty together. You could accent the tables with blue candles and bring in the brown with your menu cards or place cards.

Questions are not a problem. I got most of my ideas from past brides on this site!

Jamaicabride09- Do we have to let Sandals know ahead of time what centerpiece we want? What do they need to know in advance? Yeah this is very hard for me! I am very Type A so the Destination Wedding is pretty crazy! I had my wedding planned here and had almost every detail planned out in my head so its hard not to be able to do this. I just wish I had more pics so I can get a better visual. I search on the internet but no luck. I ask Sandals for more and they say b/c of privacy, they cant send pics. Makes it really hard for planning! I am just getting a little worried because I dont want to have a visual and then be disappointed....

avb1983- I completely understand how you feel. Mi fiancé teases me constantly about how a destination wedding is supposed to be less stress and work...However, once you have a vision of what you want it's hard to work on the details of a place that you have not seen.

When I meet with our onsite wedding coordinator; I plan on giving her a very detailed list of what I want with as many picture examples as possible and then also sharing my vision with one of my cousins who is very detailed and will make sure that my requests are followed.

With that said I plan on letting them know my centerpieces, ceremony decor requests and reception requests ahead of time. I am sure there are going to be a few small things that I may want to change once we get there. At least the big ticket items are taken care of. waited until they got to the resort to order things.

Jamaicabride09- that is a really good idea! I think I will also make a list and provide pictures of what I like! I hear that some people only meet with their wedding coordinator for an hour! I'm like....uhhh that's nuts! We have a ton to cover!! Haha! So you are smart about compilling all your desires to a list. So in the meantime, are you communicating with your coordinator? I guess I am just kind of lost on what I should be doing now and I am afraid I am forgetting something! We just planned our wedding to be a destination wedding about 1 month ago! So so far this is all I have done: All my guest should have recieved their Save The Dates last week. I have a website made. I bought my wedding invitations. Ordered my dress. We have our engagement pics scheduled. I am now looking for ideas for our OOT bags but dont want to buy anything because we are not sure how many guest we will have yet? I am also just thinking of decoration ideas for the ceremony and reception....

Oh and of course we are working on our passports and required paperwork for the resort...

So what am I missing? Anything important? Ahhh you are a lifesaver!

Jamaicabride09 do you care to share your list so I can make sure I don't forget to cover anything with my planner? I have pregnancy brain these days. We just booked officially for October 8-13th at Dunn's River. Just got my confirmation. We are getting married on October 10th at 11am. I wanted to do it in the morning for better pics and hopefully it won't be so hot. I don't want to pass out saying my vows. Also did someone mention that you can just order all of the other stuff when you get there such as al cart photos, videographer, decorations, etc. We've already paid for the room, I'm just trying to get an idea of what else I would need to pay for in advance since our final payment is due beforehand. I believe our receipt says final payment due 8/24/2009 however I though it was due 30 days before? Hmmmmm That's a little earlier than 30.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
