Question? Do we have to get an OK from the WC for our photographer of choice? Or can we do what we want but just purchase a day pass??

No daypass fee is required.

i just paid $110 for my 2 photographers. that said, i think i might have been able to get away with paying nothing. DH's brother and his gf decided last minute to fly down a day early and just see how much the extra day would be. when they were told something ridiculous like $400, they said screw that and just came in with the rest of the family, used the resort and restaurants all day, and crashed in our suite that night. the next day they went and checked in like they weren't already there a whole day, lol. all anyone ever asks for at restaurants is your room number (you could give them anyone's room). i was still afraid they'd ask for a pass for the photographers because they were schlepping equipment. not to mention mine don't actually have their mexican work visas yet, so i didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention to them. they were never given any actual passes (just gave their names at the desk), but they were stopped and questioned once or twice inside the resort.

hey gals..I haven't really been participating on the forum much-just reading all you've said as I thought about having my wedding at Dreams. But now, it's official-just sent my deposit and contract. Wedding date is April 25, 2010.

I was actually able to negotiate something about the menu options...I am including a menu card and a steak or salmon option on our RSVP cards and have to let Cecilia know 2 weeks prior to the wedding how many of each main course we need...not sure if that helps anyone?

Cecilia's exact response:

Dear Lily:

You can send the choices to your attendants and they can choose, I do not really use to do this, but we are going to make an exception, just please once you send me the elections, will be no changes, just at least if the number of people changes up or down.

OMG Lisa that is too funny. I had one of my BMs stay at Krystal and they were at Dreams all week. They crashed in my room, then in other peoples rooms all week. They didnt even use their hotel. They ate at Dreams, Drank at Dreams and used their pool. All they had to do was say one of our room numbers and they were in. hahah Too Funny. All they would do is go to their room to change at night. hahah

Claudia knew about my photographer and didnt bother to charge me a visitor fee.

How were your drinks??

my photographers actually said to me, "did you end up paying a fee for us? 'cause i swear, we both got the feeling we could have just walked right in!" LOL. i felt stupid for actually paying.

the drinks were good ... we ordered doubles whenever we wanted to actually get a buzz. and you were right, whatever their house vodka is, it tastes like lighter fluid! my BIL got kamikaze shots for everyone without asking for any specific liquor and they were disgusting! there were no coco locos again. we tried to have them make the drink without the actual coconut but because they replaced the coconut "milk" with coconut rum, the drink was just too strong and gross. we loved mango margaritas or mango-tangos, and also dirty monkeys. some days we sat at the swimup bar all day and just did every drink on their menu board, lol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
