For all the recent brides...did you use the resort flowers or an outside vendors? Which flowers did you like the best? I need to pick my flowers and I am using the resort. But I can't decide. :) Thanks!

I was hoping some of you that have recently gotten married could help me out with a question about paying the vendors?

We still owe a final payment for our videographer and photog. However, they want cash. I asked if we could pay in USD traveler's checks, and they are nervous because their bank won't accept them unless the signatures match exactly. So I have to also provide a copy of my ID. I completely understand that they need to get paid, but it makes me a little nervous to be handing out copies of my ID too. It also makes me nervous to carry a bunch of cash around.

The other thing I can do is pay the final payment via PayPal before we leave, but I'd rather give the final payment when they show up.

What have you girls done? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi girls! I'm in the process of writing my review of my wedding at the Del Mar...I hope to have it up in the next week or so. In the meantime, I put together a condensed version of our professional pics from the wedding. I tried to include a little bit of everything so you can see different parts of the wedding, including hair, flowers, decorations, etc. We had the reception in the gazebo and had the cocktail hour on the terrace of the Tropical Restaurant and had the reception inside the Tropical Restaurant. Everything turned out amazing! Let me know if you have any questions! Stina168@aol.com

Kim-I know that when we originally sent Elizabeth Medina a cheque for our deposit she had troubles depositing it at the bank so she ended up shredding it and then we paid our deposit through PayPal. She told us that the banks down there are REALLY finicky (? invented spelling!) and that she often has troubles so that's probably why your photographer would prefer cash. We were lucky enough that Elizabeth allowed us to pay her by PayPal after our wedding.

If you photographer is well known and you trust that they will be there to photograph your wedding then I don't think I'd have a problem making the final payment ahead of time. That's just me though!

Stina - Awesome pics, thanks for sharing! You looked gorgeous, of course! Did you hire an outside florist or did the Iberostar people do it all? You arch turned out fantastic! I am still slightly peeved that they didn't decorate my arch fully, oh well though haha. Can't wait to read your review! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
