Oh and how long did the ceremony last? Oh did you have to have all the things that come with a customary catholic wedding like, sponsors bible, coins, lasso, etc... Pls help on this note!!
For music we arranged for a trio to come and sing at the ceremony, they usually work with Padre Juve and sing at mass, weddings etc... They sang and played instruments. I spoke with Esperanza directly, she is the lady who organized and sang. It was a bit tough to understand eachother because her english isn't very stong and my spanish is non-existant. I only had one request for music, and that was for her to sing "Ave Maria" when I walked down the aisle instead of "here comes the bride"

We did not have to cover our shoulders, I didn't either if you see in the pics. Also we didn't have any of the customary things you're referring to.

We had a meeting with Padre Juve the night before and we ran through the ceremony and all the details. He gave us the readings that we would have to pick from and asked us if we wanted a full ceremony with mass, or just the marriage rights. We picked just the marriage rights, and the whole thing took only about 40min.

Let me know if you have any more questions!! cheesy.gif

Congrats, Ana! What a beautiful wedding! I see that you are from T.O? I love your dress! Mind sharing where you got it? My parents live in Toronto and I'm debating whether I should have my mom come shop for the dress with me either in Chicago/Dallas; or just head on home and shop with her there. If you have any recommendations, that'd be great! Thanks! Congrats, again. You are a beautiful couple!

I bought my dress at Ritche Bridal on Avenue Rd. They have alot of beautiful dresses and they are super affordable. If you're looking more for something along the lines of Monique Hullier you can also try White in Yorkville. Its by appointment only but they have an incredible selection and the staff is amazing!

That is the second time this week someone has mentioned Ritche on Avenue Road. I will have to go! Did it take long for your dress to arrive? The other girl I know who ordered from them said it took 9 months for her dress to come in!!!!!

You should ask you photographer for some teaser pics!!

Jess
I think actually my mom did ask for a teaser because we want to send out the "thank you" cards soon and wanted to include a pro pic with it. So hopefully we will get something soon. We had Juan for 8.5 hrs so I'm sure there's a gazillion pics out there that he needs to edit cheesy.gif lol shots.gif

You should definitely check it out! Its a great store because they have such a ridiculous selection. And like I said, the prices are super reasonable. Mine took 8 months to come in. It depends though on the designer and where they are located. Mine was coming from NYC, plus I asked for them to make the dress in a different material than what it was being offered as. I didn't like the tafetta with that design so I asked for the silk satin and in the dark cafe color instead of the white. I'm not sure really whether that made a difference as well. I know that the dresses that are made by Canadian designers (there's a few there) usually arrive in like 3 months.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
