Hey ladies, a quick word on getting your hair done~ I did have Leticia and still was not completely happy. The end result came out good, but the process to get there was scary to say the least. At one point she had to ask a co-worker which way you turn the dial on the curling iron to make it hotter. I definitely almost got up in the middle and told her to forget it and I would do it myself. In the end, I had enough time to fix it if I had to, so I let her finish and the end result was pretty close to what I wanted and I left it.

My advice would be to make sure you give yourself plenty of time. That way if it takes her a couple of tries to get it right or you need to fix something back in your room, you have time. Originally my appointment was scheduled only 2 hours before my ceremony and I moved it up t be 5 hours before my ceremony. Thank goodness I insisted on that~ not only did my hair run an hour longer than it should have, but I felt really good knowing I had time to fix it if the end result wasn't good.

I don't want to scare any of you. Like I said, in the end my hair was really close to how I wanted it and Leticia was really nice about getting it like the pictures I brought, even though it took a while. She was a sweetheart too. I think things are just done differently down there.

I will have to say the same as Kelly - It worked out fine in the end - but it took a long time to get there - was I 100% happy - of course not. She doesn't speak english so the communication barrier is there from the beginning.

Just give yourself tons of extra time - remember that it really isn't a big deal in teh grand scheme of things!

I loved Leticia - but I went down a couple of months prior and had a trial run, so I knew what to expect, and then we took 10,000 photos of the trial as a reminder. It did take some time - I scheduled an hour and it took almost twice that - without any real "fixing" to be done.

Lauren - Great idea to do a trial run. Do you know how much they charge to do it? You must be so excited! Especially after the recent reviews that have been posted.

I have been watching the weather reports lately and I know when we have traveled to the RM the weather is not always as the reports say it will be. Does anyone know if rain is typical at the end of May beginning of June (from personal experience)?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
