December 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Hi angruck, we are going through the same thing, our wedding is on the 16th and even though we gave people enough notice (informal STD last December and actual STD in Feb) we still heard some complaints. And I agree with you, some people will complain no matter what the circumstance is... and what FI and I have learned so far is that people who really want to be there to celebrate with us will find a way to make it there. And those are who we would want to be part of our special day anyway, not those who always find something to complain about. Hang in there!!! :)

well ladies, I think I trump everyone. We are LEAVING on christmas day. So not only are we taking our guests away from their family on christmas but the prices are also the highest that week for the entire year. We chose that week b/c we have friends and relatives who are in school or are teachers so they cant just take time off whenever they want. And also b/c lots of people have that week off already so they wouldnt need to use vacation time. I think saving vacation time makes up for the high price our guests are paying. And to be honest we didnt have anyone complain! WE were shocked. They were all excited about spending christmas and new years in mexico. Adn those that decided they arent coming b/c its christmas are very few.

It seems to have worked out well for you! I have given up caring at this point. My mom keeps bringing it up but I have decided to just ignore her :) I am not going to change what I wanted to please other people, its not all about them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
